ORDER: No. 5, Public (Special-A), 2nd January 2014.

Under rule 5 of the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service(Cadre and Recruitment) Rules, 2007, the Government inconsultation with the Hon’ble High Court of Madras, Chennai,hereby appoint the following persons as District Judges(Entry Level):—

The seniority of the candidates among themselves andtheir seniority vis-à-vis promotee District Judges will bedetermined after the proposed amendments to the statutoryrules.

2.The above District Judges (Entry Level) will draw a payof Rs.51,550/- in the scale of pay Rs.51550-1230-58930-1380-63070 and other usual allowances and they will be onprobation for a total period of 2 years from the date ofjoining duty within a continuous period of three years. Theselected candidates are requested to furnish physical fitnesscertificate direct to the Registrar-General, High Court ofMadras under intimation to Government.

3.During the period of probation, the above DistrictJudges will undergo:-

(i) Training as Civil Judge (Junior Division) for a periodof not less than six moths;

(ii) Training as Civil Judge (Senior Division) for a periodof not less than six months; and

(iii) Training in Forensic Science for a period of not lessthan two months.

4.The above District Judges (Entry Level) should alsopass the Account Test for Executive Officers within theperiod of probation. Only after satisfactory completion of thetraining, the above District Judges will be posted to act asDistrict Judge (Entry Level).

5. The posting orders for training as Civil Judges (JuniorDivision), Civil Judges (Senior Division), etc., and joininginstructions will be issued by the Hon’ble MadrasHigh Court. The above District Judges (Entry Level) areinformed that other terms and conditions specified inTamil Nadu State Judicial Service (Cadre and Recruitment)Rules, 2007, shall apply to them.
