Happy New Year! As we enter the new year I hope everyone gotwhat they wanted or needed at Christmas. We have a lot ofinteresting speakers scheduled for this year on a wide array oftopics.
Our speaker this month is Rick Feiock from FSU. He will bemaking a presentation on energy savings performancecontracting. He has been working with the US Department ofEnergy on energy conservation and sustainability issues andsurveying state and local officials to find out what theirgovernment’s greatest needs and interest are in these matters.The results of their survey are very interesting and have manyimplications for purchasing, especially cooperative purchasingand using the lead statewide contract process.
Richard C. Feiock is an Augustus B. Turnbull Professor of PublicAdministration in the Askew School of Public Administration andPolicy and he directs the Sustainable Energy and Governance(SEG) Center at Florida State University. He has published fivebooks and over on-hundred articles. His most recent book, Self-organizing Federalism is published by Cambridge UniversityPress. His current research is supported by the National ScienceFoundation and IBM Center for the Business of Government. Atthe SEG Center he oversees the Network of Energy SustainableCommunities (NESC). This program, directed by Christy Smith,seeks to stimulate local government innovation, energyinvestments and bulk purchasing for sustainability.

The pirate-themederse Trade Show will be followed by a Networkingcheon from 12:00PM to 1:30PM that will take the place ofMarch General Monthly Meeting.

Call to Order: President Wendi Sellers called the meeting to order at 12:02 PM.

Minutes: A motion was made and seconded to approve the November minutes. Motion passed.

Tobin – Don Tobin’s wife; Ms. Adrian Day – Charles Day’s daughter; Mr. Bob Allen - Vonnie Allen’s husband; Mr. DavidMcCranie, Tallahassee Police Department; Dr. Giunipero of Florida State University, Melaine Yeager, also from FloridaState and Kevin Randolph, our 2010 Hittinger Scholarship winner.

President: President Sellers read the names of all the 2010 Committee chairs and volunteers.

Introduction of Speaker: We had no speaker this month due to the number of awards and the induction of the 2011 Boardand Officers.
Elections: President Wendi Sellers inducted the 2011 Board members and then the Officers. The 2011 Officers andBoard of Directors are; President – Donna Smith, Vice President – Robert Threewitts, Treasurer, Mark Lovell, Secretary –Susan Barr, Board Members – David Callaway, Charles Day, Gloria Dixon, Bill Spencer, Ed Valla and Brenda Wells. EdValla was not present so he will be sworn in at the 12/21 Board Meeting. Wendi Sellers then passed the gavel to DonnaSmith. Donna presented a thank you gift to Wendi for her solid and gracious service as the 2010 President.
Holiday Committee: Brenda Wells created a Power Point® slide show of the past years’ events that played during themeal. Each attendee received a small box of chocolates and a jingle bell necklace. Luckier attendees received thecenterpieces.Don Tobin made a symbolic presentation of “Walter” the bear to Officer McCranie. The membership donated nearly 140stuffed toys for distribution between the Tallahassee Police Department and the Children’s Home Society.
Scholarship Committee: Chair Vida Addison introduced the 2011 winner of the Hittinger Scholarship Award, Mr. KevinRandolph.
