Largest Appendix removedAn appendix removed from a 55 year old Pakistani man on June 11, 2003, at Pakistan Institute of Medical Science, Islamabad, Pakistan, and measured 23.5 cm in length. The operation was carried out by Dr. Riaz Ahmed .The appendix is a long, thin worm like pouch sticking out of the join between the large and small intestine .Doctors are still not sure of its purpose or even if it has a purpose-and although it contains system cells, if its surgically removed, health does not suffer.

Muhammad Asif• This was Asif’s fourth appearance in the World

Championships, and his best run at the event has been reaching among the top 32 players last year.

• However, he began his campaign in Bulgaria with confidence defeating Australia’s Vinnie Calabrese 5-0 in the first round. He overcame Egypt’s Wael Talaat 5-2 in the pre-quarterfinal, crushed Syria’s Mer Alkojah 6-2 in the quarterfinal and outclassed Malta’s Alex Borg 7-1 in the semifinal to make his way to the trophy.

youngest ever• Unbeaten for 5 years and 8 months; winning 555

Jansher Khan• During his career he won the World Open a record

eight times, and the British Open six times. • . He climaxed the 1996 season by winning the 20th

Rashid Malik• Rashid Malik won the ITF Seniors 45 plus

singles title by defeating Jaikar Surachet 6 2, 6 3 of Thailand.

• Later pairing with Sanjay kumar won the doubles title against Pawan Jain and Sharatak from India

Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi• A top-10 doubles player, his highest

singles ranking was no. 125. He is the only Pakistani tennis player to reach the final of a Grand Slam

• Qureshi and his doubles partner Bopanna created a campaign, "Stop War Start Tennis", with their goal to play a match on the border of India and Pakistan.

Mehak Gul• Previously, she held third position at the

Punjab Chess Championship and fifth at the National Chess Championship held in Karachi, helping her qualify for the team which represented Pakistan at the world championship. The young chess champion Mehak Gul was the only member of the Pakistan women’s national team who hailed from Lahore, with the rest being from Karachi.

• According to her father and coach, Mohammad Zahid, she is the youngest person to have qualified for the Olympiad from Pakistan. The previous person was a 15-year old girl from Karachi. Mehak Gul has also Set World Record of Setting Chess Table in 45 Seconds. The young chess champion aims to become a Grandmaster, a title conferred by the World Chess Federation.

Samiullah Khan • He was instrumental in Pakistan’s bronze

medal in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, and winning gold in Asian Games in Bangkok in 1978.

• Khan retired from international hockey in 1982 while he was a captain of Pakistan.

• He later managed the Pakistani team, quitting in 2005. flying horse is the 5th in our list of most popular sportsmen in Pakistan.

Shahbaz Ahmad SrHe was the player of the tournament in both World cup 1990 and 1994, with Pakistan lifting the cup in the 2nd episode. He had an excellent ball control, sheer speed and was a real game maker.

played a major role in 1982 world cup, Asian games and 1984 Olympics victories.

Hanif Khan• Hanif Khan was a top class left in with

excellent skills and  speed. • He was an important player of Pakistan

hockey team which won 1984 Olympics and bronze medal in 1976 Olympics.

Akhtar Rasool• Olympianfrom Pakistan who won the

• Born to Naureen and Arshad Sami Khan in London, UK, he is a Canadian citizen of Pakistani, Indian, Afghan ancestry who currently works and lives in Mumbai, India.

• Won many awards for his singing and composing.

A Nayyar • A Nayyar belonged to the same era as Ahmed Rushdi

and Salim Raza and considered Rushdi as his teacher. He gained enormous popularity because of his playback singing.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan• In addition to Qawwali, he also performs ghazals

and other light music.• He is popular as a Bollywood and Lollywood

playback singer.• Rahat became the first Pakistani to be invited at

2014 Nobel Peace Prize, to perform at its concert.

• He had won 16 Awards Internationally.

Ali Zafar• He made a big mark with his first song that sold

over five million copies worldwide. The album turned out to be one of the biggest hits ever in Pakistan.

• Ali began his acting career with Bollywood film, which was moderately successful at the box office, and for which he was nominated for Filmfare Best Male Debut Award.

• Zafar went on to win Stardust Award for Superstar of Tomorrow – Male. Zafar starred in a number of commercially successful films.

Mehdi Hassan• In 1957, Mehdi Hassan was given the opportunity to

sing on Radio Pakistan, primarily as a thumri singer, which earned him recognition within the musical fraternity.

• He had a passion for Urdu poetry, and therefore, he began to experiment by singing ghazals on a part-time basis. He cites radio officers Z.A. Bukhari and Rafiq Anwar as additional influences in his progression as a ghazal singer. His first song was "Jis ne mere dil ko dard diya" film Susral in 1962.

• In 1964 his ghazal for a film Farangi, "Golon mein rang bharay" gave him a major break and he never looked back after that.

  Tahira Syed • Syed received her initial training in music from Khan

Sahib Akhtar Hussain. She first appeared on air in 1968–1969 on Radio Pakistan,and Pakistan Television and her popularity increased in the 1970s and 1980s

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan• with introducing Qawwali music to international

audiences.• He is popularly known as "Shahenshah-e-Qawwali",

meaning "The King of Kings of Qawwali".• Born in Faisalabad, Pakistan, Khan had his first public

performance at age of 16, at his father's chelum. He became the head of the family qawwali party in 1971.

• He toured extensively, performing in over 40 countries.

Noor Jahan• She recorded about 10,000 songs in various languages

of India and Pakistan including Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and Sindhi languages.

• Along with Ahmed Rushdi, she holds the highest record of film songs in the history of Pakistani cinema.

comedians of the Pakistani film industry. • He made his professional cinematic debut in a 1958

productions, sang songs, and wrote scripts as well.

Sultan Rahi• Sultan Rahi is regarded as one of the most successful

Punjabi actors with an appearance in 813 films, becoming the only Pakistani actor to be in the Guinness Book of World Records.

• He has won 160 Film Awards in his career. Some of his major films include Maula Jatt, Sher Khan,Chan Veryam and Kaley Chore. He has established himself as one of the leading and most successful actors of Pakistani and Punjabi cinema.
