We asked, you answered: The Tulfo-Barretto/Santiago brawlby Ivy Jean Vibar, ABS-CBNnews.comPosted at 05/07/2012 2:06 PM | Updated as of 05/07/2012 2:06 PMMANILA, Philippines -- The brawl at NAIA 3 between journalist Ramon Tulfo and the party of Claudine Barretto and Raymart Santiago eclipsed the resumption of the Corona impeachment trial as this mornings most-talked about local news issue, with netizens scouring news sites for updates and social media for on-the-scene exclusives. The popularity of both parties led netizens to have strong opinions on the issue. Some blamed Tulfo for going paparazzi and trying to take photos of the actors speaking with Cebu Pacific personnel, while some said it was the celebrity couples fault for being overly aggressive. Some, however, chose to laugh at the hoopla surrounding the issue, saying there are more important things people and the media should be attending to.Tulfo was trying to later exploit the situation, Santiago was trying to prevent him from doing so, said @migylieminogue on Twitter. Some, such as @docintubate, said they thought the issue could have been handled better. I think they have made a mountain out of a molehill. Too much emotions and melodrama. Life is simple.@harchel added that the issue only blew up because marami ang nakialam.Santiago, Barretto file charges vs Mon TulfoABS-CBNnews.comPosted at 05/09/2012 5:47 PM | Updated as of 05/09/2012 9:05 PM

Barretto and Santiago file case vs Mon Tulfo before Pasay City RTC.

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) Celebrity couple Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto filed charges of physical injuries and child abuse against columnist Mon Tulfo on Wednesday afternoon. The couple claims Tulfo attacked them first, following an argument over photos that the columnist took while Barretto was berating an airline employee. The celebrity couple also said their child was traumatized after witnessing the brawl at the airport on Sunday.Barretto appeared before the Pasay City RTCand walked usinga cane. She claimed she was still in pain from injuries she suffered after Tulfo allegedly kicked her during the brawl.Santiago, meantime, revealed he has gotten a bodyguard after seeing suspicious vehicles near their home."Hindi ko sinasabi na sila yun. Well may nagsabi kasi yung neighbor namin, at yung van na yun may pangalan pa," he said.Santiago and Barretto are still considering whether they should sue Tulfos brothers Erwin, Ben and Raffy for grave threats they made on air. While the celebrity couple is serious about suing Tulfo, the latter is just laughing off the charges against him.Tulfo had said he did not start the fight and he should not be blamed for the child's trauma."Parang napaka-stupido naman na kaso yan, sinaktan ko ba yung mga bata?" he said. MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) Actor Raymart Santiago and journalist Mon Tulfo got into a fist fight Sunday afternoon at the arrival area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.In an interview with dzMM, Tulfo said he just arrived from Davao onboard a Cebu Pacific flight when he saw a familiar face at the arrival area reprimanding a flight attendant. Pinagalitan ang ground stewardess ng Cebu Pacific, he said.Tulfo said he later on recognized that it was Santiagos wife, actress Claudine Barretto, who was scolding the airport staff. Kaya sabi ko buti nga, he said.Tulfo said he then decided to take a photo of Barretto through his camera when he heard that Barretto was already cursing the stewardess. Tulfo, however, said he was caught off guard after Santiago approached him and was forcefully trying to grab his cellphone. Doon nag-umpisa ang kaguluhan, he said.Tulfo said several people approached him and a punch landed on his face thats why he decided to fight back. Tulfo said it took a while before airport authorities responded to stop the brawl.Meantime, Barretto denied that it was her husband who started the brawl. In an interview with radio dzMM, Barretto said it is also not true that she cursed at the airport staff.(For the full story about Claudine and Raymart's side, clickhere.)Airport authorities are currently conducting an investigation over the incident.2 Cebu Pacific arrival agents accuse Claudine Baretto of verbal abuseByJerry E. CLAUDINE BarrettoMANILA, PhilippinesTwo Cebu Pacific passenger arrival agents have told the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) police they were verbally assaulted on Sunday by actress Claudine Barretto after the airline off-loaded her groups bags from a midday flight from Caticlan, the gateway to Boracay, the popular tourist destination in Aklan province.Cid Charisse Bocboc and Cristina Anne Ilagan made the disclosure in a written statement to the police intelligence and investigation department (PIID) of NAIA.At this writing, the PIID had yet to furnish media a copy of their statement. But Lieutenant Demetrio Sison, PIID officer in charge, confirmed to the INQUIRER that Bocboc and Ilagan had indeed made such claim. He declined to provide other details about their complaint. The PIID had summoned the Cebu Pacific ground staff to shed light on their alleged verbal tussle with Barreto. This paper tried but failed to reach Bocboc and Ilagan for comment on the incident. Both were off duty on Monday, according to Candice Alabanza Iyog, Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution. When interviewed, Iyog recalled that on Sunday, Barretos group took Cebu Pacific flight 5J 896, which left Caticlan at 10:20 a.m. The flight arrived at NAIA Terminal 3 at 11:35 a.m.Cebu Pacific, however, had to off-load some luggage from that flight due to Caticlan airports weight limit requirements, which the airline strictly implements for safety reasons, she explained.Iyog said that due to the short runway and the prevailing wind conditions at Caticlan, the plane can only carry a certain amount of weight, prompting our ground staff to off-load some bags. A total of 11 bags were off-loaded from that flight. Nine of them belonged to Barretos group (which also included her husband, actor Raymart Santiago), she said. But the same bags were promptly loaded on another Manila-bound flightCebu Pacific flight 5J 340which left Kalibo airport at 12:40 p.m. on the same day. That flight arrived here at 1:40 p.m. All off-loaded bags were delivered to their owners homes a few hours later, she said.According to Iyog, Bocboc and Ilagan did apologize to (Barreto and party) for what happened and promptly attended to their concerns at the baggage claim area of NAIA Terminal 3.When our arrival agents learned that their bags had been off-loaded in Caticlan, they offered them what we call first need compensation, which is P1,000 for every bag left behind. Thats (standard operating procedure). We also offered to refund their excess baggage worth P4,300, she said.Iyog pointed out we have done what were supposed to do. However, (Santiago and Barreto) have yet to respond to our compensation offers. But we are in constant communication with the Santiagos, she added.Meanwhile, Manila International Airport Authority general manager Jose Angel Honrado on Monday indicated they would not conduct a formal inquiry into the brawl involving INQUIRER columnist Ramon Tulfo and Santiago. In a phone interview, he admitted that the MIAA was not competent to determine and were not mandated to determine the guilty party in (Sundays) incident at NAIA Terminal 3.Lets wait for the courts to decide whos at fault after the two sides have filed their respective complaints, Honrado told the INQUIRER.Tulfo has complained to the MIAA head about the airports security personnels failure to pacify those involved in the rumble.Siya (Santiago) ang suntok nang suntok. Nasasakal na ako. Bat nangyari yun eh may guards at pulis pa? I was being choked. How did that happen when there were guards and police? When I was being brought to the police precinct they were forcibly taking my cellphone), the columnist lamented in a TV interview. The other day, Sison said no arrests were made by the NAIA police because they had two sets of complainants and were still trying to find out who really started the fight. On Monday, Hondrado a
