High strength mechanical hardware is included to connect the mast and antenna components. The antenna, while on the mast, may be rotated to any azimuth direction and locked in that direction in less than five minutes by two people. ARA-01300 and ARA-0118: 10KHz to 18GHz SIGNAL INERCEPT Antenna Systems ARA 01300 antenna systems are designed for the semi permanent or tactical intercept of vertical and horizontally polarized signals from 10KHz to 3GHz. Omni intercepts below 20MHz are limited to vertically polarized signals only. ARA 01301 is an upgraded version of ARA 01300 where omni intercept of horizontally polarized signals are extended down to 1.5MHz.

ARA 0118 extends the frequency range of the intercept antenna system to 18GHz. It can intercept horizontally and vertically polarized signals from 1.5MHz to 18GHz, as well as vertically polarized signals from 10KHz to 18GHz. A complete antenna system package includes all required antennas, a small tower with guy ropes and other installation hardware, azimuth rotator with a remote controller, a connector panel to access outputs form various antennas and required tools for assembly or disassembly. ARA series antennas can be easily disassembled into a compact package for transportation, and then reassembled in the field with tools supplied with the antenna. The antenna system, when disassembled, can be stored in reusable crates supplied with the antenna to reduce spatial requirements and lower infrastructure costs.

DFA-118/C04: 1-18GHz Direction Finding Antenna System The DFA-118/CO4 antenna system is ideally suited for RF direction finding in military and tactical environments. It is comprised of a collapsible reflector antenna, a positioner with a remote controller, a telescopic mast and a power supply. The complete system is stored and transported in a molded transit case. The collapsible reflector antenna is designed with quick release fasteners for easy set-up and breakdown.

The pneumatic telescopic mast, model NY7/C3173, may be attached to a vehicle with brackets. It is supplied with a safety switch which indicates when the mast/positioner is off its mounting cradle for deployment and when the mast is fully seated and the vehicle is safe to move. SAS-118DP/CC4-05: 1–18GHz RF Signal Intercept Antenna System A broadband (1-18GHz) RF Intercept antenna system with a collapsible multisection reflector, accompanied by a dual polarized feed, a 2-axis positioner (EAR – 50) and a heavy duty tripod.

TAS – 131 (Old Model # AO13-117140) A portable Ultra Small Antenna Terminal (USAT) for 11.7-12.2 and 14.0-14.5 GHz frequency ranges includes a ultra light rectangular aperture offset reflector with a manually adjustable dual linear feed. The terminal is supplied with a tripod in a transit case. TAS – 141 (Old Model # AO14-1214R) A VSAT antenna system including a 14” offset reflector with a remote-controlled dual-linear feed, a heavy-duty gear-head tripod mount, a tripod and a precision electronic inclinometer in a foam-filled transit case. TAS – 181 (Old Model # AO18S-1214) The system includes a feed, a 2-panel, 18 inch diameter offset reflector, electronic inclinometer and a gear-head tripod mount in a transit case. TAS – 191 (Old Model # AS19S-1214) This is a complete portable Ku-band Earth Station in a suitcase. The 2-panel reflector stows inside the lid. The suitcase contains the complete VSAT radio, control device, antenna riser and feed and feedboom assembly. The antenna has three motorized axes – azimuth, elevation and polarization. After setup, the user’s location and the desired satellite longitude are input; the antenna then automatically steers to the satellite.

TAS – 331 (Old Model # AS33S Series) This antenna system features a two-panel metal parabolic reflector, three interchangeable feeds and a tripod. The entire antenna is stowed in a suitcase. Standard feeds include orthogonal linear feeds in the 1.6GHz band and 2.5GHz (Model AS33S-2424) frequency bands, and INMARSAT (Model AS33S-15C) feeds with circular polarization. It may be deployed as a tactical antenna in any telemetry, data collection, surveillance, mobile satellite, RDSS, INMARSAT or GOES satellite application. TAS – 332 (Old Model # 9531-800) This L-band receive system includes a 2-panel reflector, LNA filters, attenuators, power supply, a tripod and a demountable circularly polarized feed (for 1.525-1.661GHz band) stored in a rugged, foam- filled transit case. The antenna and the RF subsystem are calibrated for use as a portable earth station for monitoring AMSC/TMI L-band satellites.

TAS-001 (Old Model # 9378-800) Used as a multi-function covert antenna, this "elevated feed" whip antenna serves four purposes. It can receive Loran C navigation signals, operate as a standard cellular antenna, receive GPS signals and also receive L-band SATCOM signals. The entire unit is 31 inches tall and comes with a standard base spring and a trunk lid mount. It cannot be distinguished from an ordinary automotive cellular antenna. TAS – 333 (Old Model # 9848-800) TAS-333, a transportable test system, is used to evaluate satellite performance and local interference at different geographical locations. The test system consists of an adjustable tripod, an AZ-EL gear head, a parabolic reflector antenna, two bifilar helical antennas, a low noise amplifier, directional couplers and a DC power supply. The system also includes a rugged carrying case for each major piece of equipment. The antenna itself is composed of a collapsible reflector with a dual circular feed. The antenna system includes two circularly polarized omni antennas to monitor local interference. One helical antenna is left hand circularly polarized, while the other helical antenna is right hand circularly polarized. The gear head is outfitted with AZ-EL adjustment knobs that can be locked in place to prevent unwanted movement. Using these knobs, once can achieve 360° of rotation in the azimuthal plane. In elevation, the antenna can be steered from zenith to horizon. Moreover, the gearhead contains an integral bubble level to ensure reliable elevation pointing at all azimuth angles.

TAS-003 (Old Model # C0623) TAS-003 is a collapsible version of our lightweight & Flight Termination Antenna Systems CPA-042/LW (see separate datasheet on Helical Antennas) for tactical applications. Complete Antenna System including the mounting stand, positioner and antenna elements are disassembled easily and can be reassembled in the field with minimal tools (supplied with the antenna). All parts are shipped in six crates (Five crates weighs less than 100lbs and one crate weighs around 185lbs).

TAS-003 TAS-003 Pole Mount TAS-004 (Old Model # CPA-17/F1) TAS-004 is a collapsible version of our high gain and compact helical array antenna CPA-17/F1 (see separate datasheet on Helical Antennas) for tactical INMARSAT F1 terminals. This antenna is intended to be used with new compact gimbals for smaller INMARSAT Ship Earth Stations (SES). This greatly reduces the swept volume of the marine antenna system. TAS-004 is smaller in diameter than conventional standard A/B SES reflector antennas but conforms to INMARSAT F1 SDM gain, sidelobe envelope, G/T, axial ratio and polarization requirements.

DIRECTIONAL ANTENNAS Collapsible Reflectors antennas CPRA and CPDA series collapsible parabolic reflector antennas offer a practical approach to high-gain and narrow-beam antennas for tactical applications. For standard CPRA and CPDA models, the dish, the feed and support break into components which fit in a standard carrying case. All collapsible reflector antennas have captive fasteners, quick release hardware and accurate reflector panels, and are precision aligned under real life conditions. No additional tools are required for quick reassembly. These antennas may be mounted on vehicles, telescopic masts, tripods or on ARA’s unique knockdown tetrahedral mounts. Special mounting brackets and plates for attaching a telescopic mast to the wall or to the back of a truck are available on request. CPDA series antenna cover waveguide or smaller bands, optimized for satellite, radar, broadcast, news gathering and other commercial or military applications. CPRA series antennas are broadband, covering multioctave band, instantaneously, with a single feed. CPRA-118 series antennas are extremely broadband (1-18GHz) reflector antennas with different feed options and reflector types. 1) CPRA-118/A series antennas: These antennas are

made using a reflector assembled from aluminum Panels.

2) CPRA-118/C series antennas: These models use a

lightweight composite material for parabolic reflector panels.

Collapsible Log Periodic antennas ARA has several tactical lightweight log periodic antennas which are ideally suited for military applications. The primary objective in designing these antennas has been to minimize the time required to deploy and store the antenna in the field, with as few tools as necessary, if any. All elements are spring loaded and/or tethered to ensure quick assembly and teardown. Most log periodic antennas operating down to 100MHz collapse into small, easy to carry dielectric tubes which are used for storage and transportation. The center mount is designed for either polarization (vertical or horizontal).

BROADBAND OMNI ANTENNAS VBC-3059: VBC-C3059 is a Vertical Biconical antenna with spring loaded elements for quick movement from ‘Storage’ to ‘In Use’ position. It is ideally suited for tactical transmit and receive applications. VBC-C3059 has an instantaneous operating band from 25 MHz to 1000 MHz. VBC-C3059 can handle RF power levels in excess of 500W Power. The VBC-C3059 is designed to be used in either the extended element configuration for best low frequency performance, or with elements retracted with a slight degradation in performance at the lower bands. Both the upper and lower groups of elements are configured to fold “DOWN” around the supplied fiberglass mast. The folded antenna is stored in a cylindrical tube of seven inches in diameter and 40 inches long. The assembly time for the antenna is around two minutes and it requires no tools. CMA-5240 and CMA-5100: Broadband Omni Antenna CMA-5100/A and CMA-5240 antennas fold into small volume packages, ideally suited for extremely fast deployment in the field and for tactical applications. Both antennas provide excellent coverage at and around the horizon when mounted on a mast. CMA-5240 offers an instantaneous bandwidth of operation from 0.5MHz to 2400MHz. It is a ruggedized antenna designed for use in harsh environments. A CMA-5240 antenna can be operated in passive or active modes. It is by default, in passive mode while there is no DC power supplied to the antenna. Thus, by disabling the active circuit, CMA-5240 can operate in a fail-safe mode, and in a high field environment. A new unique design for CMA-5240 antenna elements has reduced the setup time to less than three minutes. CMA-5100 is an active antenna for receive-only applications. The CMA-5100/A antenna is assembled by inserting the 32 elements into the antenna head and tightening them by hand.

UVW-1331: The UVW-1331 is a dual band (138-152 MHz and 310-315 MHz) Omni-Directional antenna for tactical field applications. Featuring a spring loaded, rugged design for dual band vertical elements, its folding ground plane elements are designed to be setup in less than 10 seconds. HMA-LTT and HMA-LMP: ARA’s innovative and patented HMA series Helical Mast antennas provide high gain and omni-directional coverage with an adjustable and variable elevation beam peak range. The elevation beam can be adjusted manually or remotely using a motorized mechanism. HMA-LTT (Old Model # 9760-800) is a multisection mast-type antenna which can be easily disassembled for storage in an 8” package for tactical applications. HMA-LMP and HMA-LMT (Old Models # 9872-810 and 9872-800) are short L-band satcom antennas, ideal for Man-pack systems. ALC-1302: ALC-1302 is an active crossed loop antenna for HF applications. The antenna pattern is essentially spherical in free space where polarization is vertical at the horizon and circular overhead. Loops measure 2m square each, which fold into a small flat package. The ALC-1302 does not require any tools for quick reassemble in the field.

These are extremely durable antennas that can be deployed several thousand times by military troops in harsh environments.
