Introduction

Tablet PC is the hottest gadget nowadays. The tablet PC was took off the popularity of laptop. Mostly people want to do their work at anywhere they want. The technology of tablet PC prepared all kinds of software and hardware that seems similar to laptop but its physical size is smaller and lighter than laptop which is make the tablet PC become the best option to user.

For our assignment, we are focus on the hardware of the tablet PC. Each of members needs to find different tablet PC to be compare between these tablet PCs. All tablet PCs that we are going to compare are from seven different brands which are from Samsung, Acer, Sony, Asus, Motorola, Toshiba and Google. Those tablet PCs have different features with their own speciality.

To get the reason why the users choose the tablet PCs as their gadget, we are doing survey among students. We summarized it in graph to compare the ranking of those tablet PCs. The ranking is based on size, thickness, features, applications, battery life, weight and external port. We are ranking based on the hardware features.

According those tablet PCs, we invent new tablet PCs with new features, basically about its hardware. Maybe our invention is the best tablet PC that people are dreaming it.

Apple iPad 4

iPad is sleek, beautiful, and engineered to handle life on the go — thanks in large part to the aluminum unibody. By consolidating many parts into one, everything becomes less complex and far more precise. The result is an iPad that’s thin, light, and durable enough for the ins and outs of everyday life.

The most important feature on any iPad is the screen. So for the iPad with Retina display, we wanted to build not just the best iPad display, but the best display on any mobile device. To create a display with over 3 million pixels was an engineering feat in its own right. But we went even further. We designed a camera that could take images as brilliant as the display itself. And we enclosed iPad in a unibody so thin and light, you can take all those pixels with you wherever you go. And they travel beautifully.

Thanks to the A6X chip, the iPad 4 has double the chip speed and graphics performance of its predecessor and the new custom-built Apple chip also powers enhanced features in the new tablet, including picture stabilization and face detection when snapping photos or shooting videos. The iPad 4 also features "ultra-fast" Wi-Fi that doubles the connection speed of the iPad 3, and for LTE customers, Apple has also expanded the number of LTE frequencies supported by the iPad to include more carriers in Europe, Australia, and even here in the US, including Sprint-Nextel.

Pick up the iPad with Retina display and suddenly, it’s clear. You’re actually touching your photos, reading a book, playing the piano. Nothing comes between you and what you love. That’s because the fundamental elements of iPad — the display, the processor, the cameras, the wireless connection — all work together to create the best possible experience. And they make iPad capable of so much more than you ever imagined.

SONY TABLET S

The Tablet S (formerly named S1) is the first tablet computer released by Sony. Featuring a "unique asymmetric design", the Tablet S runs Google's Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 operating system and features a 9.4 in (240 mm) multi touch display, 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor, Wi-Fi ability, front- and rear-facing cameras, Bluetooth, and an infrared sensor. It is also configured with access to the Sony Entertainment Network and is PlayStation Certified and Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) compatible. Sony Tablet S was announced on April 26(US) and was released on August 31 2011(US).

You can access to Video Unlimited, which allows you to buy or rent a variety of movies. You also can surf the Sony's eBooks application and access to the Reader Store to buy books. Sony Tablet S also provides you a large library of music from all the major labels, which is a streaming service.

This tablet also come with The Sony Entertainment Pack, with games such as the fun and popular "Crash Bandicoot," free limited memberships to Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited and more. You can also stream content to a variety of TVs and other devices, much like Apple's AirPlay feature found on iOS devices. Guest Mode allows others to use the tablet with predefined settings that determine which applications are accessible and changes the appearance of the tablet if it’s used by a child, family member or a friend.

Sony Tablet S also contains WALKMAN, Album and Movies application that change the design and features of Sony’s multimedia applications. Besides that, Small Application can create a mini browser, IR remote, calculator, voice record, or a timer over other applications. It creates a floating application window to allow access to multiple features at once.

Remote control adds six new keys that can be programmed to implement a specific command. Users can set it to turn-on a Blue-ray or play music by just pressing a button. Watch now, is a new program guide that uses large photos of shows to illustrate what’s on. It relies on popularity and user preferences to place more emphasis on what you’re likely to watch, and includes options for posting to Facebook, Get Glue or Twitter. The other feature is Socialife, the renamed version of Social Feed Reader Cloud. It delivers news articles and video from the user’s networking feeds. A customizable row of most frequently used icons on the top-left of the screen is also provided. A "Favourites" bar at the top-right and a customized version of the Android web browser is also the unique application of Sony Tablet S.

It's a standard looking tablet, with glossy black front beneath scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass, and a neatly textured plastic rear panel that should stop it slipping around. It doesn't have the premium metal feel of the iPad, but it doesn't feel cheap either. On the side are HDMI and microUSB slots (the latter for syncing only, it's powered by an outsized proprietary port), combi mic/earphone jack and a slide-out tray for the multi-card reader.

The screen is impressively bright and sharp, delivering 1280x800 pixel resolution. The brightness is enough to deal with direct sunlight for the most part and it's got quite a wide viewing angle too. The quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.3GHz is backed by 1GB RAM and comes with 4-PLUS-1 technology that it is effectively a fifth core, used for low-power, battery-saving mode.

The front-facing 2Mp camera provides adequate quality for video chats. At the back is a 5Mp camera with a useful LED flash. Disappointingly, there's considerable shutter lag and the screen isn't really bright enough to use as a viewfinder in sunny conditions. As the lens isn't what we'd call wide-angle, the AT300 isn't much good for capturing landscapes unless employ the sweep panorama mode, which produces wonky results unless have ultra-steady arms. The quality of both photos and videos from the rear camera is below par.

Battery life seems impressive. We used it modestly for a while, and went from fully-charged down to 32 per cent in three-and-a-half days. We think that's pretty good, considering we did some web surfing, social networking and watched streaming video via Netflix and Plex. Clearly, this is a capable power-pack.

Despite being powered by a nVidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, with the now famed ninja-core, we didn't find the AT300 to be the most responsive tablet we've ever used. For the most part, it was decent, though at times we found certain apps were a little sluggish. Web browsing is good, even on the Android browser. We suggest to get Chrome though, as it adds a lot of very useful features and improves speed again. Even so, the stock system has tabs, and is a very desktop computer-like experience.

CONCLUSION

Logical Design

The design we had made according to preferable feature that student love in their tablet. We have added some new feature to make it more innovative. According to the design, students prefer to simple feature. They don’t like too many physical features at their tablet. More thinly, more better. So they can bring it everywhere to do their assignments, to serve social network and to play games.
