Scotland Memorial Hospital started in 1946 in the medical facilities of the deactivatedLaurinburg/Maxton Air Base. In 1951, it moved to McLean Street as a 100-bed facility and, withadditions in 1956 and 1965, increased the number of its acute care beds to 124. In 1983, thehospital opened its new facility on its current campus and is licensed for 104 acute care beds.

Scotland Health Care System offers a full range of acute care and outpatient care services.

• A staff of over 1,000 full-time and part-time employees makes us the area's largest privateemployer.

• Our providers cover a wide range of specialties from anesthesiology to vascular surgery.

• Scotland Health Care System owns and operates the following:

• Three Ob/Gyn practices – one in Scotland County, one in Robeson County, and one inMarlboro County.

• Two General Surgical practices – one in Scotland County with a satellite office in RobesonCounty and one in Marlboro County.

• An ENT practice located in Laurinburg.

• Six primary care practices – two located in Laurinburg and the others in outlying regionsof Wagram, Maxton, and Pembroke in North Carolina; and Bennettsville in SouthCarolina.

• Scotland Endoscopy Center, an outpatient endoscopy center in Laurinburg, whereconvenient screening colonoscopies are provided.

• A Nephrology practice located in Laurinburg.

• A Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine Practice in Laurinburg

• A Urology Practice in Laurinburg

• We treat an average of 61 inpatients daily and perform over 7,000 surgeries annually.

• Approximately 54,000 patients are seen in our Emergency Center each year.

• Close to 700 babies are delivered at Scotland Memorial Hospital each year.

• Scotland Health Care System operates two urgent care facilities which provide patientswith non-emergent health care needs, shorter wait times and often lower costs than a visitto the Emergency Center. No appointments are necessary.

• Scotland Urgent Care and Occupational Health Services is located on the hospitalcampus in the Community Health and Rehabilitation Center. It is open seven days a week.

• Marlboro Family Practice and Urgent Care is located in the Marlboro MedicalComplex. Urgent Care services are provided Monday through Saturday.

• Outpatient Imaging Center, conveniently located on the corner of the hospital campus,offering outpatient imaging services for 3D mammograms and ultrasounds of the breast.

• Sophisticated technologies include: wide-bore MRI, nuclear medicine, CT scanning with astate-of-the-art 64 slice CT scanner, laser surgery, PET scans, and 3D mammography.

• Scotland Mobile Health Care provides mobile health care services to our community andindustries.

• A successful Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program enhances the health of patientswith heart disease or certain breathing problems or diseases.

• Scotland Cancer Treatment Center provides quality medical and radiation oncologythrough its affiliation with Duke Health. The Center is staffed by Duke Doctors, participatesin Duke research trials and has access to Duke’s many resources.

Radiation Oncology offers the latest Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and Intensitymodulated radiation therapy (IMRT). We offer the latest prostate cancer treatment utilizingSpaceOar and Optune which creates Tumor Treating Fields to slow or stop glioblastomatumor cells from dividing, and may destroy them.

• Scotland Regional Hospice is a non-profit Medicare and Medicaid certified health careprovider licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina and accredited by the AccreditationCommission for Health Care Inc. Scotland Regional Hospice has been addressing the specialneeds of families facing end-of-life issues since 1986.

• The Center for Inpatient Rehabilitation at Scotland Memorial, is a seven-bed inpatientrehabilitation unit located on the third floor of the hospital and offers an intensiverehabilitation program that is specific to the patient’s diagnosis.

• Scotland Sleep Center is a four-bed facility which provides access and timely results andtreatment for those suffering with sleep disorders. Patients spend one night in the SleepCenter's private room for a simple, painless procedure where brain waves, muscle activity,leg movements, heart rhythms, and other body functions are monitored while they sleep.

• Scotland Cardiovascular Center, a joint venture with FirstHealth of the Carolinas, is a state-of-the-art facility providing cardiac catheterizations and urgent and elective percutaneouscoronary intervention (stents) for heart disease and vascular procedures to treat circulationproblems. Scotland Cardiovascular Center allows our patients to enjoy the type of carefound at a major medical facility combined with the comfort and convenience that comesfrom being close to home.

INTRODUCTION

• Scotland Family Counseling Center provides outpatient mental health services to a five-county area. This private, non-profit corporation is dedicated to providing faith-integratedprofessional counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and children.

• Marlboro Medical Complex, housing Scotland Pharmacy - Marlboro and Marlboro FamilyPractice and Urgent Care.

• Marlboro Specialty Center, a new state-of-the-art facility for Marlboro Surgical Associates,OrthoCarolina Scotland, and Women’s Health Center of the Carolinas Marlboro.

• Retail Pharmacies conveniently located inside of Harris Family Practice, Marlboro FamilyPractice and Urgent Care, and Pembroke Family Practice.

• Emergency Air Medical Transportation Service, a partnership with Cape Fear LifeLink Airto station a helicopter 24/7 on the Scotland Memorial Hospital campus to cut responsetimes and deliver critical care air ambulance services to patients following a traumatic illnessor injury.

• The Scotland Wound Healing Center is specifically designed to treat patients with hard-to-heal sores or wounds, often utilizing the two hyperbaric oxygen chambers. The Center islocated in the Community Health and Rehabilitation Center. Inpatient wound care is alsoprovided.

• The Outpatient Rehabilitation Services Department includes a rehabilitation gym andprivate treatment rooms designed for one-on-one treatments and evaluations. Servicesinclude Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Recreational Therapy, and Speech Therapy.

• The newly renovated Scotland Women's Center consists of Labor and Delivery, Obstetricsand Gynecology rooms, and a Nursery. The staff of the Women's Center is dedicated toproviding you and your family members with the information and education needed tomake informed decisions throughout the childbearing years.
