Table Displays and Events
Most private and public campaign activities may include employee fairs, agency kickoffs and speaking engagements. Make the most of your opportunity with this advice:
PREPARE IN ADVANCE
• Get all the details from the event’s representative • Use Google maps • Know where there is parking or public transportation access • What are the specific security requirements for this agency? • Call and confirm event details 24-‐28 hours before you go (cancellations can happy last minute) • Dress neatly, wear comfortable shoes • Utilize a sturdy carrier for transporting your materials • Do not bring too many materials, it’s overwhelming • Give yourself plenty of time and arrive early to select the best table • The second or third table from the door may have better visibility, choose table facing door
where attendees enter.
SETTING UP
• Greet the coordinator and express thanks for the invitation • If possible bring a tablecloth with your logo on it, and make sure the table is wiped down before
covering it • Utilize brochure holders to keep the table neat and organized • Bring candy • Place any extra materials under the table and out of sight • Determine best place to stand (in back, front or side)
RELATIONS
• Make a connection with each person • Let them know of possible opportunities they can get involved (monetary and/or material
donation as well as volunteering opportunities) • Warmly greet and say “Thank You” to every visitor
AFTER
• Check with the events coordinator to see if there is an informational table or kiosk to leave your organization’s brochures upon departure
• Thank the coordinator immediately after the event and follow up with an email note of appreciation.
