Special correlations are needed for more exactrelationships in these cases, all values are consistent with ASTM E-140Tables 1 and 2, and ASTM A-370 Tables 3A and 3B, where applicable.Microficial number values were developed in the Wilson StandardsLaboratoryNote: 1 A 10mm steel ball is used for 450BHN and below.A 10mm carbide ball is uded above 450BHN.Note: The tensile strength relation to hardness is inexact, even for steel,unless it is determined for a specific material.
