The author rejoices that this is true, and prays the divineblessingalsoupon thisnew edition, whichwasmadenecessaryby reasonof theelectroplatesof the formereditionbeingworn, andby thedesire tohave itsgeneralstyleconformto thatof theScripture Studies series for itmay properly be considered asupplement and sequel to the fifth volume of thatwork, keptseparate forconvenience.Aside from these typographicchanges, and the addition of one chapter, and a few alterations in thephraseology to make some points possibly more perspicuous, there are no changes. Indeed, no particular changes seemedpossibleordesirable.

    HETabernaclewhichGodcommandedthepeopleofIsraeltoconstructintheWildernessofSin,andinconnectionwith

whichalltheirreligiousservicesandceremonieswereinstituted, was, theApostlePaul assuresus, a shadowofgood things tocome. (Heb. 8:5; 10:1; Col. 2:17.) In fact, thewhole nation ofIsrael, as well as its laws and its religious services andceremonies, was typical.Thisbeing true, ourunderstandingoftheplanandworkofsalvationnowinprogress, aswellastheirfuturedevelopment, cannot fail tobegreatly enlightenedbyacareful study of those shadowswhich the Israelites, for ouredification, werecausedtorepeatyearbyyearcontinuallyuntilthe Gospel Age introduced their antitypesthe realities.1Pet.1:11;Heb.10:13.It isnot simply togainahistoricalknowledgeof the Jewish

    THETABERNACLESCONSTRUCTION.

The directions given to Moses for the construction of theTabernaclemaybe found inExod.25 to27,and theaccountoftheperformanceofthework,inExod.35to40.Briefly stated, the Tabernaclewas a house constructed of a

series of boards of shittim (acacia)wood, overlaid or platedwithgold, setonend intosocketsofsilver,andfirmlyfastenedtogetherbybarsofthesamewood,alsocoveredwithgold.Thisstructurewas15feetwide,15feethigh,and45feetlong,
