Version 0.1 4 Global Scanning UK Ltd © 2017

Beta software limitations This version of the software is a very early preview and as such many functions are not included and

it has some limitations:

• It supports the iPF-PRO4000S printer. This should be connected via Ethernet.

o (The new USB driver library is not included in this version, so USB connection is very

slow and limited).

• It supports the current iPF7XX printers but this should be connected via USB. (In this case the

Ethernet driver is very slow).

• It does not include any support for the Tx series printers as the SDK was not available yet.

Installation 1. Install Utilities software – this includes the USB driver.

2. Install SmartWorks MFP V5

3. Install the Windows printer driver for the printer and set it as default. Although SmartWorks

MFP5 has its own internal printer driver, it passes the data to the printer via the spooler of

the Windows printer driver.

Utilities • This standalone program is to be used to calibrate or loading firmware on the T25/T36 scanner.

• It should not be run while SmartWorks MFP is running.

• This is a 32-bit application, so cannot run inside SmartWorks MFP5 now.

SmartWorks MFP V5 • This program should not be run at the same time as the Utilities. This is a 64-bit application.

• The scanner will report with the model name SC25X or SC36X, not as a T25 or T36 in the

software.

Home Page

Overview This application is designed to be operated via a touch screen.

It is part of an MFP system which includes a T25/T36 large format scanner and a Canon printer.

The functions supported are:

Copy, Scan, Print, Edit, Copy & Archive.

It uses a scan once, preview edit workflow. This means the image is scanned once, is edited on the

large screen, then printed (Copy) or saved (Scan) only when you are happy with the image. This

saves time and paper/ink. It protects delicate documents from multiple scanning.

Navigation

The Home page shows the main functions displayed on a carousel. The function at the front is the

active function (The active function in the picture above is Copy). Touch or swipe on any function

icon to rotate the carousel.

Under the selected function, the most common options for the at function are displayed:

E.g. For Copy = Preset, Quality, Copies, Scale.

Version 0.1 6 Global Scanning UK Ltd © 2017

The right-hand side of the screen shows features that define the mode of operation for that

function: Preview on/off, Batch mode on/off, Sets on/off.

The options will change according to the function at the front of the carousel. More options are

available under the Advanced Options button.

There is a Reset button in the top right of the Home page, which return the program to the power on

default settings.

At the bottom of the screen, the scanner is listed on the left, the printer on the right. This shows the

status of the device, and selecting the “i” will provide more information about the device.

On some screens, if there are more choices available, then the number of circles at the bottom of

the screen shows how many pages are available. The selected page is identified by a filled circle.

Version 0.1 7 Global Scanning UK Ltd © 2017

As you navigate through the menus you there is a Home button and sometimes a Back button in the

top right corner.

Timeout Reset After a period of 2 minutes with no activity, the software will return automatically to the Home

screen and reset to the power on defaults. If User Accounts are enabled, it will also, log out the

current user and show the logon screen.

Power Users can create and edit their own Presets, which includes setting their own scan paths. If

given permission by the Administrator, they can also personalise the software. Power users have a

limited Settings page.
