Pencil and paper List of spelling words
Today’s Lesson: Show the student the list of spelling words and read them together. Then ask the student what they notice about the first 6 words. Is there anything that is the same? (They should hear that there is a long o sound in every word.) Have your student get a pencil and paper. Then explain that you will read the word and they will try to write the word correctly. Read the word one at a time, pausing to allow them to write. Some discussion you could have is:
What letter(s) did you have to change from the word above? Can you use the word in a sentence?
When you finish then have your student practice reading the words back to you.
