This competition is based on the Boosting Breakfast topic within the resource.
Getting startedBreakfast gives you the energy you need to start your day. Watch the Boosting Breakfast animation about healthy breakfasts and see what happens if we don’t get the energy we need.

It’s easy to enterThis competition asks students to write a slogan about breakfast. The slogan can promote:
• Eating a healthy breakfast OR
• How breakfast gives you the energy you need OR
• Ideas for an energy boosting breakfast
here are some ideas:
• Healthy breakfast for school is a golden rule
• Jumpstart your day with a healthy breakfast
Photocopy the drawing of the t-shirt. Give one to each student. Ask them to think of a slogan and write it on the t-shirt. They can use lots of colours to make their slogan really stand out.
Complete and post back the entry form – remember to include your contact details.
Win great prizesOverall winnerA class trip to w5 plus a cookery demonstration in the school by TV chef Paula mcIntyre.
6 regional winners A class trip to Streamvale Open Farm.

IN YOUR SCHOOL
Terms & ConditionsIntroductionThe T-shirt Breakfast Slogan Competition is an initiative between safefood and the Public Health Agency to promote the Eat Taste and Grow resource for primary schools in Northern Ireland. By entering the competition entrants are deemed to have read and understood the terms and conditions and be bound by them.
Eligibility1. The competition to design a breakfast slogan for a T-shirt is for Key
Stage 2 students. 2. All entries must be genuine; must be the work of the student who
submits the entry. 3. One entry per person is accepted.
Entries1. All parts of the entry form must be completed with the class
teacher’s permission.2. All entries must be posted back to ASG, Anderson House,
Holywood Road, Belfast BT4 2GU at the schools own expense.3. All entries must be received no later than 5pm on the Friday 18th
October 2013.4. No responsibility will be taken for any entries which are damaged,
lost or received after the closing date. Entries will not be returned.5. All entries will be judged by a team of experts and the judges’
decision is final.
Prizes1. The main prize is a class trip to W5 for a maximum of 35 students
and a cookery demonstration in the school by Paula McIntyre. Transport to W5 will be provided.
2. Six regional prizes of a class trip to Streamvale Open Farm for a maximum of 35 students. Transport for the class trip will be provided.
3. Prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives to prizes for students, schools and teachers.
4. All decisions of the judging panel will be final and binding. No further correspondence will be entered into.
5. The seven winners will be notified via the class teacher by 11th November 2013 and detail of all winners will be available on the safefood website www.safefood.eu after 11th November 2013.
Publicity1. The competition organisers reserve the right to use the Breakfast
slogan design and photos of winners in promotional material.2. Entrants may be required by the competition organisers to
participate in publicity activities including interviews, photo and/or video sessions.
3. The competition organisers reserve the right to use such material in any reasonable manner deemed fit.
4. Entry materials submitted becomes the sole property of safefood, the Public Health Agency and the T-shirt Breakfast Slogan Competition and may be used for marketing purposes.

It complements the Key Stage 2 curriculum and helps children enjoy learning about:
