Utopia Profile: Josh Irving Utopia Data Specialist Josh Irving, originally from Fort Worth, Texas, serves as Utopia’s data specialist. With a background in land acquisition, Josh has been in the oil and natural gas industry for eight years. Josh has been working on the Utopia project and living in Ashland, Ohio since August of 2015. As a data specialist, Josh is responsible for tracking the Utopia team’s progress including land acquisition along the Utopia route. An easement provides the Utopia project with a limited use of property for defined, specific purposes. The acquisition of an easement does not transfer ownership of the land to the Utopia project; it does, however, give Kinder Morgan the right of access for construction and maintenance and the safe operations of the Utopia pipeline. The typical permanent easement on the Utopia project will be 50 feet. At the end of construction the land will be restored to pre-construction conditions.
