Mrs. Ratcliff's PreK class has been discovering God's Creation all around us. From nature walks and art projects to reading Gen-esis 1 and weekly centers, the children have explored "God made the World, and God made ME!" As the students prepare for Kindergarten next year, they focus daily on literacy, math, science, writing, and our community. Most importantly, the children are learning their faith through the everyday action of showing kindness and respect for others and prayer. "Each day is a chance to smile, to play, and to learn something new." - Mrs. Ratcliff & Mrs. Judy
St. Peter School News
St. Peter School After Care Program is looking for a part-time desk clerk. Hours are Monday thru Friday when school is in ses-sion from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. You will have off Christmas, Easter, all school holidays and summer break. This is a great job for a stay at home mom, retiree, grandma or college student. Please stop by the school office for an application or call Kelley Bezler at 573-636-8922 if interested.
Come explore with Kindergarten, the official John Chapman Historians. As many of you may know, John Chapman had a nickname, Johnny Appleseed. Becoming a historian of John Chapman, we explored the tastes of different colored apples, cooked some apples in the classroom, tasted cooked apples in the school prayer garden, and learned that John Chapman used nature to get some peace from his household of eleven siblings.
John’s love of nature allowed all of us the opportunity to grow apple trees. He owned over 1,000 acres of apple orchards. Students found it interesting that John Chapman spread the word of God, as he shared apple seeds with others.
God bless the sun, the rain, and the apple trees!

Flu Season is Here! Influenza (the flu) is a contagious respira-tory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. Some people, such as young children, older people, pregnant women and people with certain long-term health conditions are at high risk for serious flu complications. The single best way to prevent the flu is to get a flu vaccine every year. The vaccine typically is redesigned each year to contain flu virus strains expected to be prevalent during the upcoming flu season. The strains have been inactivated so that they don’t cause you to get sick with flu, but will trigger your immune system to produce antibodies that can protect against influenza disease. Seasonal flu activity can begin as early as October and continue to occur as late as May, most commonly peaking in the U.S. in January or February. For information and advice regarding which flu vaccine is best for you, check with your health care provider or visit: http://www.cdc.gov/flu. Please Note: A flu shot cannot give you the flu.
