READINGS: (Sun., Aug. 18) Jer 38: 4-6, 8-10 Ps 40: 2-4, 18 Heb 12: 1-4 Lk 12: 49-53
The Lord came to the aid of Jeremiah whose preaching brought upon him rejection and ill treatment. For those who
take the gospel seriously, misunderstanding and division must likewise be expected. Like Christ, we must never
grow despondent or abandon the struggle to proclaim and live the truth.
St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary Mission Statement
We, the members of the Body of Christ of the Parish of St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary, in fullness of love of God and
Neighbor, wish to affirm our unity in faith, expressed most completely in the celebration of the Eucharist. We con-
tinue the work of our founder Jesus Christ in serving all in healing, charity, religious education, promotion of voca-
tions, community involvement and welcoming all to the fullness of faith through the Sacraments.
ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH ANNUAL PARISH FAMILY PICNIC: Sat.; Aug. 10 & Sun.;
Aug. 11 at 126 Nesbitt St., Larksville. Live entertainment nightly.

reassess participation again in 2020 to decide if it would be a worthwhile fundraiser. Thank you.

315, Laflin with a Mass at 7:00 p.m. followed by special prayers to St. Joseph for workers. Confessions and

CHURCH PROJECTS 2019: The Project Committee Members include: Tom Hooper, Don Kane, Paul Golias,
John Gabla, Michael Yasenchak, Ray Clarke and Todd Argenziano. If anyone is interested in joining the committee
please see a committee member or speak to Father Dang.
Dear Parishioners & Friends of St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary Church:
The first major project accomplished in our parish this year has been the replacement of the Church
furnace which failed just as the 2019 heating season was ending. This gives the parish the comfort of a new furnace
and a new air conditioning system, the latter having been installed two years ago.
The second major project is the Church steeple being re-shingled, top to bottom. Work continues and the con-
tractor will repair or replace metal and wood issues. The top of the church, including the decorative
towers, will get two coats of paint. Lightning rods and wires will be inspected. Please exercise caution in work
areas.
The Projects Committee has been working with Father Dang to carry out these projects. We thank all
donors who have contributed toward the projects. Please continue to support our parish projects to make these re-
placements and renovations possible. All work, completed and planned, is being made possible by donations from
church organizations, parishioners, friends of St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary Church and through the support of the
Summer Festival. Again, thank you! Let us join hands together to do God’s work. May God’s love and blessings be
with you always.
Father Vinnie, Finance Council and Projects Subcommittee
