Thanks to the talents of the spinners, knitters and weavers of the Berry Spinners and Weavers group, they took out fi rst prize in the group category of the ‘Tealicious Tea Cosy Competition’ at the 5th South Coast Fibre Muster held at Gerringong Town Hall last month. The Berry Spinners and Weavers went all out in creating not just a tea cosy, but a huge morning tea tray fi lled with delicious-looking cupcakes, chocolate roll, biscuits, sandwiches and cocktail frankfurts – all made from knitting or weaving. They looked good enough to eat, but unfortunately were totally not edible. Even the milk jug and sugar bowl were knitted, as well as the plates, cutlery and a cup of tea. For a touch of humour, there were a few knitted mice lurking around the food. It was an enjoyable, though at times a challenging group project that culminated in their run-away win in the competition. The hosts of the Fibre Muster this year, the Illawarra Feltmakers , agreed that they had ‘hard shoes to fi ll’ in following on from the four years that the Berry Spinners and Weavers were the organizers. With a well organised and very enjoyable and successful two days of all things to do with fi bre crafts, the Feltmakers ‘raised the bar’ once again.

The Berry Spinners and Weavers meet every Thursday morning from 10am to 12 noon at the Hall at the Albany Street Gate of the Berry Showground. Visitors are always made very welcome.

Centenary DinnerOn Saturday the 18th August Berry Branch held a dinner to celebrate its one hundred years of service. It was a wonderful night and thank you to all who came to help us celebrate. The Berry Public School Ensemble, who are sponsored by Berry Red Cross, entertained us before dinner and Michelle for Michelle for Harps entertained us during dinner. Our Master of Ceremonies was one of our Patrons, Gareth Ward MP.The guest speaker for the evening was one of the ambassadors for Red Cross, Bob Hanby. He gave a fascinating talk about his years working for Red Cross establishing water and sanitation schemes in places such as East Timor. Another interesting talk was given by Glenn Kolomeitz, who worked as an

Australian Army lawyer in some of the same places, on the application of the Geneva Conventions in war.It was a very enjoyable and interesting evening.Red Cross Display at Berry MuseumThe display is still on show. Come and look at it in order to see the wonderful contribution your local branch of the Red Cross has been making in the community continuously for 100 years. Also learn about Australian Red Cross and its contribution to humanity for the 100 years of its existence. The Berry Museum held a very enjoyable morning tea to launch the display.

The Berry Gardens Festival is over and it’s back to business for the Garden Club and the new committee headed up by Denis Simond. While Denis’ team will certainly be building on the progress of the past two years, they will have their own ideas about the future direction for the Club which they will introduce over the next 12 months to the keen interest of the 200+ membership. Hazel King, one of the recently appointed committee members, has been in the limelight recently. Hazel has been awarded Life Membership of the Garden Club for her commitment and contribution to the Club over the past 15 years and, just to top it off, Hazel has also been recognised by the Garden Clubs of Australia who have issued her with an individual award for her contribution to horticulture. While it was all a bit overwhelming for Hazel at the announcement, everyone is delighted about this well-deserved accolade for one of our gardening favourites. If you have ever wondered how you could possibly fi t an orchard into your garden, Jonathon Gamer probably has the answer. Jonathon is an expert on Espalier, the art (and skill) of training plant growth into fl attened two-dimensional forms. This highly decorative and practical pruning technique is ideal for small gardens as well as an interesting way to break up larger areas. Join us at our next meeting on Tuesday 21 October at 7.30pm in St Luke’s Church Hall in Princess Street, Berry to fi nd out more about this fascinating

Hazel King’s Gardening TipsIt’s time to prune Spring fl owering shrubs as soon as the fl owers have fi nished and apply fertiliser for future nourishment. You can start to prepare your pots for Summer annuals while seeds such as Cosmos can be scattered straight onto your garden for a beautiful display in the months to come. There are some old-fashioned annuals such as Clarkia and Cleome returning to favour for gardens this year with Blue Lobelia always popular. Check planting times for vegetables and herbs; fertilise your established fruit trees. It’s a good idea to spray weeds in paths and gravel areas before the warmer temperatures encourage rapid growth. And remember to take some ‘time out’ to visit the many Open Gardens.

Advancing the status of women and girls locally and internationally.

BIG BIRTHING KIT DAY - WE NEED YOUR HELP!Saturday, 18 October is the day we plan to assemble 4,000 birthing kits! These kits help ensure a safe birth for mothers and babies in many poorer countries, and recent statistics show a staggering reduction in mother/infant mortality rates. We have held these assembly days before and we all have a fun, communal day. Anyone is welcome to come and help, any time from 9am ‘till we fi nish. This year there will be a second ‘assembly line’ for fi nishing off the making of our breast cushions to be given to breast cancer patients at local hospitals. So come along, fold, stuff, stitch, chat – eat even, and contribute to a really worthwhile cause. Venue is the Berry School of Arts in Alexander Street and we ask that you contact the co-ordinator, Val Kennedy-Clark, on 0428 882 064 to book. And if you could please bring a plate of something for morning tea, that would be greatly appreciated.

MORE MORNING TEAOnce a month the Zonta Club of Berry holds a very informal meeting at Our Book Shop in Queen Street, Berry, as a social ‘get to know you’ opportunity. These mornings are proving to be very popular both within the club and for interested members of the community. The next meeting will be at 10am on Thursday, October 16, so come along and fi nd out just what it means to be a Zontian – you will be most warmly welcomed!

MARY SEELIS AWARDEDTasmania has its Mary and we have ours – not quite a royal but an extremely hard-working volunteer who has been nominated as a recipient for the prestigious Shoalhaven Medal Award which aims to recognise high-achievement community members who have made a difference to our city, helping to make communities stronger and more vibrant, while helping to promote a true community spirit for this and future generations. We await the fi nal outcome – and keep our fi ngers crossed that ‘our’ Mary will win!

BIRTHDAY DINNERWhile we are always delighted to welcome guests to our monthly dinner meetings, Tuesday, September 24 will be quite special for us as we celebrate 14 years of Zonta in Berry. Yes, there will be cake and candles, so do join us. Call Mary Seelis on 4464 1191 before Sunday 22 September to book for dinner at Gabby’s in Princess Street. 6.30 for 7pm.

MEETING DETAILSDinner meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at Gabby’s Restaurant, Berry, 6.30 for 7pm. Please call Mary Seelis on 4464 1191 to book. Visitors are most welcome.

A recent fi eld day at Bundewallah on Subtropical Rainforest regeneration was well attended. Some of the attendees were recent arrivals to the area having recently purchased acreage outside the urban area of Berry. Some questions were asked of the speakers. One was “How can we turn our pasture back into the type of native fl ora that was on our property before European settlement?”Firstly the property should be assessed to get some idea of what the vegetation would have been 200 years ago. This will depend on the geology and geomorphology. The Berry area’s soils are Alluvial on the river and coastal fl ats, Berry Siltstone in the lower part of the foot hills and Gerringong Volcanics in the foothills up to the escarpment cliffs. (See Berry Geological Map). The other factor determining vegetation type is the form of the land, steepness and orientation. The areas where these characteristics meant that the forest was too moist to burn would have been Subtropical Rainforest. Where it could dry out and was able to catch fi re, Eucalyptus forest would dominate. These areas were also subject to fi re-stick farming by the local Wodi Wodi people. This would have given rise to open Eucalyptus -Turpentine Forest. The pasture that at present dominates the area was introduced to all those areas fl at enough to cultivate by Europeans. The beginner might think that if the land is not grazed the bush will return. This will however result in the establishment of vast swathes of Lantana, Crofton Weed and other non- natives. The seed stock for native regeneration still exists in the soil. It is also

LANDCARE BERRY

replaced continually by natural processes. The presence of Lantana or Kikuku grass in the pasture will also prevent these seedlings from successful germination and regrowth. The method that can overcome these restraints has been proved in recent years. Firstly a canopy of quick growing opportunistic trees such as Black Wattle, Two Vein Hickory or Sweet Pittosporum should be planted. These will require protection and for the fi rst year or two until they grow above the grass. When they shade the pasture other plants will emerge from the seed stock in the

soil and from bird droppings from perching in the trees. It is necessary to winnow out the non-native seedlings. This should be done by hand once every month or so. This will require knowledge of which seedlings are native and which are not. This is where Landcare can help with plant recognition by our experts. In seven to ten years the Wattle canopy trees will start to die but there should by that time be a canopy to suit the area tailored by nature to match what grows well for that area. This procedure is not labor intensive.

WEED AND NATIVE OF THE MONTH:The above article suggests a strategy for getting rid of plants that once were commercially important and not regarded as weeds. This gives credence to the adage -“A weed is the right plant in the wrong place or the wrong plant in the right place”. It seems to be appropriate to nominate Kikuku grass as the weed of the month. This concept is given stronger evidence when Black Wattle is nominated as Native on the Month. This borer infested prolifi c tree often falls over and blocks roads or damages our property. In uncultivated areas when it falls, it forms a frame work for Lantana or Moth Vine to take over. It can however be important in the landscape of Berry. The fallen trees are quickly taken back into the soil and form an important part of recycling of the Native fl ora.

Berry Men’s Bowling ClubAfter the very dry spell that was testing players due to the very fast greens the players are now fi nding the opposite with the recent rain slowing the greens down considerably. The change in speed of the bowling green requires players to amend both their speed of delivery and the delivery width of the bowl and these changes can add considerably to the challenge of the game and to the enjoyment. The 2014 Club Championships will conclude in the next month or so and from that point onward the main emphasis prior to Christmas will be on social play and preparation for the 2015 District Pennant Competition which will involve Clubs from Gerringong in the north to Ulladulla in the south.Social bowls will continue to be played at 1.00 pm Wednesday and Saturday and anyone who would like to observe the game of Lawn Bowls are welcome to call in. Those wishing to return to the game of bowls or give the game a try are invited to contact on telephone 0488729229 or telephone the Club President David Armstrong on 44641543 or any member of the Berry Men’s Bowling Club.y g

September has been an exciting month. Spring sunshine poked her head out between the showers and graced us with a few bright, cheerful, warm days. The book launch featuring the latest book of Deb Hunt, “Love in the Outback”was an outstanding success. Deb was a delight to listen to and you were caught up with the stories of her life and the feeling that you must read the book. Defi nitely a must read! All had a pleasant afternoon, a chance to catch up with friends, topped off by a beautifully prepared High Tea that Berry Branch does so well. Lace cloths, posies of fl owers, fi nger sandwiches, miniature scones with jam and cream, and cupcakes, peti fours , brownies were the order of the day. One could expatiate at length with the wonders laid on the taste buds.A little more down to earth was the trip to the Robotic Dairy at Pyree. This demonstrated the vast change from the hand milking done 100 years ago. The cows wander in when they please and are milked by modern technology, namely, a robot. They can be milked at any time of day and there is no getting up at 4 am to hand milk. They just come when they are full, even at midnight, and uniquely the robot will call the owner’s mobile in the event of a problem. After their demonstration the owners had no time to rest as they needed to look after the other animals and farm matters. The day ended at the dairy with a fresh glass of milk, and then the folk were off to Greenwell Point for a lunch of fi sh and chips. On Wednesday 10th the Wollondilly CWA groups met at Kiama for a “Cultural Excursion.” The Combined CWA Choir

opened the day with a song from “Anything Goes” (in tune with the day’s theme of the same name). The day included a photo exhibition, fl oral arrangements in a tea cup, a variety of crafts, skits, public speaking, all judged by coin voting for exhibits. The day ended on a musical note with the CWA choir joining in with the guest choir, The Men’s Probis, to sing “Music has Brought us Together.”

What a fantastic Term 3 we have enjoyed at Berry Community Preschool. Early in the term the Tuesday children journeyed on an excursion to the Berry Town Fire Brigade. The following week the Monday children were delighted and surprised to have the fi re truck visit us at Preschool. Arriving with sirens blaring, the fi re fi ghters proceeded to extinguish our pretend fi re in the preschool poplar tree demonstrating how high the water in the fi re hoses can actually reach. The children loved the spectacle and were able to benefi t from learning or reinforcing what they already know about fi re safety and what to do in the event of a fi re. It was great to see the children engaging with our community helpers – a big thank you to our fi re fi ghters. This Term the children have also participated in the fun and fi tness of Zumba. We have been fortunate to have energetic Zumba teacher Vicki visit us each week to put us through the paces of a total body workout. Not only has this been fun and entertaining but has also had a huge learning outcome for the physical development, balance, fl exibility and coordination of the children (and staff too!).

Berry Community PreschoolIn Week 3 we hosted a Teddy Bears’ Picnic inviting Grandparents or special visitors to join us for the morning. During this week, Monday children and visitors were entertained by Mazza the Clown with singing, face painting, making balloon animals and going on a Bear Hunt where much to our surprise we met a bear (aka Pete in his bear costume). It was great to learn that our donation to Mazza was going to a very good cause - The Shoalhaven Hospital, Children’s Ward. On our other picnic days we demonstrated our Zumba moves and sang and played percussion instruments to entertain our guests.

In late August we celebrated Book Week with an excursion to the Nowra Library. Of course dressing up for Book Week as our favourite book characters was another fantastic highlight of this special literary week. Throughout Book Week we also enjoyed reading special books that the children brought along to share with their preschool friends. What a well-read bunch we are!!

Not only was the week in Sydney a great way to observe the show from a different angle, it has also given me the opportunity to meet and network with people that I would not have had the chance to ordinarily” she said.

The third annual Berry Small Farm Field Days staged by the Rotary Club of Berry on 5 and 6 September at the Berry Showground had less than perfect conditions but those who attended enjoyed the many exhibits and activities on display.Field Day Coordinator Paul Andersen reported that everyone’s patience and ingenuity were tested by this year’s event. “The very wet conditions leading up to the event gave us a surface on the oval which was quite soft but had we had no further rain we would have had another good year. However the heavy showers on Thursday night and Friday resulted in a sodden surface which turned to mud and slush with the vehicular traffi c involved in getting exhibits onto the site. Everyone dealt with the trying conditions and despite the situation which was best described as “gumboot territory” the

Small Farm Field Days – a great ‘country’ day out in challenging conditions

majority of exhibitors reported a reasonably good result given the circumstances. Crowd numbers were a bit down as you would expect, but it seems the ones that were keen on getting information and checking out the farming and garden equipment etc still came out.”The fashion parades gained a lot of attention and the fashion organiser Deb Mainsbridge is pictured modeling one of the great looking outfi ts from the Berry Barn. The many children who attended enjoyed the Carefl ight helicopter simulator, the animal nursery and all of the farm animals and chooks that were on display.

The Rotary Club of Berry thanks all of the sponsors including Gold Sponsor Berry Vet Clinic; Silver Sponsors Millpaca and the Local Land Services; Bronze Sponsors Berry Barn, South Coast Cruise and Travel, and Shoalhaven City Council; and Supporters Ray White Berry, IGA, Strongbuild, Elders Berry, and Aussie Pro who donated a chainsaw as the prize in the Raffl e.The raffl e was won by local farming contractor Anthony Warr who said it would come in very handy. Anthony is pictured together with the Village Vets stars James and Anthony.

Thanks to the foresight of the founding members of Berry Drama Group, our Constitution specifi ed the disposal of assets in the event of the group being disbanded. As a result, we were pleased to hand over cheques for $670.49 to both the David Berry Hospital Auxiliary and to Berry Public School, the latter for use by their Drama Department. Both organisations have thanked us for those donations as has Nowra Players who were the recipients of some props, scripts and set construction materials. Many thanks again to the Berry community and all the local businesses who have supported us over the years. We received the following letter from Berry Drama Group Life Member Susan McMurdo who expresses so well what the group meant to her.“It has taken me some time to put my feelings and thoughts together about the end of the Berry Drama Group. As I was packing up at Jamberoo to move to Wollongong I came across all of the photos, scripts, cards of encouragement, some costumes, programmes etc. I have lovingly packed them all in a box. It was an amazing opportunity to reminisce on the years I spent with the group, the incredible productions I was a part of, the amazing dedication of Rosie and Gus in the early days and then Feargus and of course Rosie’s ongoing incredible dedication to the Berry Drama Group and then the remaining committee who kept it alive till the end.The group brought me so much - the opportunity to fi nd that I could act. That

was the most amazing experience for me as I had never done it before I joined the BDG. Being part of the drama group was such a solace for me as I travelled through the most diffi cult time of my life personally, it gave me the opportunity to play some amazing roles and bring everything I had to those roles and to bring stories and move people and touch hearts and souls with joy, laughter, tragedy and poignancy. To bring quality theatre to the Berry Community and to form amazing bonds and friendships with other members has been such an honour and a joy. Thankyou to everyone I have acted with, been directed by, who have been behind the scenes with set construction and stage managing and making tea and being front of house. Special thanks to Rosie for encouraging me to be in my fi rst play and letting me fl y, for your patience and constant commitment, to Gus for your inspiration and love and incredible artistic talent, to dearest Rodney for your costumes and your support of Gus and his vision, to Anne Brien as stage manager who always borrowed my watch and was an amazing friend, to Jean for her passion and being our matriarch, to Shelley, John Underwood and all the other front of house people who have supported us year in, year out, to Mark for your constant smile and all the work you did as secretary, to Bruce Whatley for your long suffering support and incredible work on set design and construction, programme design and photography as well as directing, to James Barkway-Jones for your set construction and some amazing roles, to Will Hodgson for your acting ability and inspiration, to Feargus for a wonderful relationship and more great roles,

to Maurice for your steady guiding, dedication and fi nancial wizardry, to Lesley and Deb for keeping the fi re burning when it was hard to keep it alight and trying so hard to keep the group afl oat, to Bruce Martin for wonderful catering and giving us all a laugh.I know not everyone I have mentioned will read this and there are so many more to mention. Thankyou to all for bringing so much to my life. For such a wonderful opportunity to fl ower and fi nd something in myself that I always wanted to discover and was nurtured and encouraged to discover by each one of you. I treasure those years, I treasure that room upstairs in the school of arts - twas my second home. Thankyou all.LoveSusan McMurdo”

At our Annual General Meeting last month, several Certifi cates of Application were awarded.Firstly, Lachlan Price from the Berry Bowling Club for his very willing help to us in setting up the Club for many of our larger functions.Mick Rigg for his willing help in being “teller” at our fund raising eventsCathy Howard our Pink Lady volunteer. Cathy takes her trolley around to all the patients in the hospital, selling items they may need e.g. toiletries, sweets etc. Cathy is a very welcome visitor to the wards.Judy McMillan. Without fail, Judy collects the Sunday papers from the newsagent and takes them to the hospital so the patients have them to read. I am sure they appreciate having them. The Auxiliary and the patients really appreciation Cathy and Judy’s commitment for the patients and a big Thank You to you both. Also on the day, a surprise for Moira Harris, who was made a Patron of the Auxiliary joining Betty Ireland who is also a Patron. Congratulations to Moira and very well earn. People who go to our main events would have noticed the decorations etc. on our table. These have been the work of Moira. She has also been our President and put her hand to anything needed. Congratulations Moira and well done.Upcoming events include a Melbourne Cup day on Tuesday, 4th November, at the Berry Bowling Club. DAVID BERRY HOSPITAL AUXILIARY MEETING NEWS

On Saturday 4th October, we will be having a Pre-Loved Clothing sale at the Berry Showground Pavilion commencing at 9am. Ladies’, men’s and children’s clothing will be accepted. If you can spare us anything for the sale, you can leave them with Pam Coles or Marilyn Kellett by 1st. October or we can collect them if need be. All monies raised at our functions go directed to the hospital. The hospital give us a “Wish List” each year and we do our best to purchase all items as they are for the patients’ needs, care and comfort and also the staff.I am sure that like the rest of the town, we were very sorry to hear the Berry Drama Group has closed. They have provided the town with entertainment for a long time and

it is sad to hear they will not be ongoing. We would like to sincerely thank the group for their donation of $670.49 for the David Berry Hospital. Our sincere thanks to the Group for your gift. Please keep in mind, we will be holding a street stall on Saturday, 13th December. All items and help will be greatly appreciated.Early next year will be holding a Book Sale but on a smaller scale then previous years. The reason is our Auxiliary members, like a lot of committee, are getting smaller. If you care to join our Auxiliary, you will be must welcome. We meet on the second Monday of each month at the David Berry Hospital at 12.30pm with a light lunch.

“Joining the Club”

A Member’s Perspective on Berry Riding Club

I’m one of those people with a life long passion for horses and riding and over the years I’ve tried many equestrian disciplines but the lack of a multi discipline organisation has been a limiting factor. All those membership fees add up. A few years ago I heard from a friend about Berry Riding Club. I had just started a new young horse. We were a colourful pair ... she was green and I was rusty. The membership was very reasonably priced and included insurance and there was a regular mid week get together called GG’s which seemed a good place to start. There is something very pleasurable about sharing coffee, cake and riding time with like minded people but GG’s soon led to other things. Berry Riding Club has regular “Skills Development” and “Come and Try” days with qualifi ed and very supportive instructors so my little mare and I got to try dressage and jumping in a non competitive atmosphere. In 2014 the club has embraced the new discipline of Working Equitation. “Dressage with obstacles” seemed like my kind of challenge so off we went to a clinic and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My little mare was learning, so was I, and our partnership was developing nicely. BRC also offers regular competition days so we went to our fi rst dressage competition and plan to attend more as we progress. We are so fortunate

to have a club which allows adult and child riders to develop their skills, to compete and enjoy their horses in so many different ways. In April, BRC participated in the Berry Anzac Day March. I was a bit worried about horses and crowds but the horses seemed to understand the solemnity of the occasion, behaved impeccably, and drew many favourable remarks from the public. I’m now planning to dress my horse and I in pink and attend the “Pink Day” the club holds each year to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research. Berry Riding Club has the philosophy “Riding Fun For Everyone” and that is true: but it is also a club with a strong community spirit. Anyone want to come riding? www.berryridingclub.com

Marilyn A ElmA Brazilian Odyssey: the works of Artist and LandscapeDesigner, Roberto Brule Marx

Roberto Burle Marx (1909 – 1994) was Latin America’s most infl uential twentieth century landscape architect and an internationally renowned fi gure in the modern arts. A multitalented artist, he was witness and contributor to a broad form of expression. Trained as a painter and musician, he practiced simultaneously in diverse media, including drawing, painting, etching, sculpture, tile mosaics, tapestry, printmaking and landscape design. As an amateur botanist and expert horticulturalist, he also gathered an important collection of plant species. He collaborated with most of the Brazilian architects then on the national and international scenes, including Oscar Niemeyer, Rino Levi and Lucio Costa, and associated with Marcel Breuer and Le Corbusier. This talk traces his fl amboyant and colourful legacy, from Rio de Janeiro to the iconic Brasilia.

CantaresCantares, the local Berry choir conducted by Dr Carlos Alvarado, is hoping for a fi ne Spring day to perform at the upcoming Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival on Saturday 18th October. As the choir has performed on numerous occasions in Kangaroo Valley, a brand new repertoire is currently being prepared. This will include spirituals and folk songs. Along with other local choirs, Cantares will perform between 12.30-3.15 in the Pavilion and again at the Catholic Church at 5.15pm. The choir will enjoy welcoming guest members from the Manly-Warringah community choir, also conducted by Carlos. Members of both choirs continue to love the experience of singing with others under Carlos’ enthusiastic and brilliant expertise. Dedicated new voices are always welcome at Cantares. We rehearse weekly, with sheet music provided and, generally, a rehearsal CD for each voice part. For the more challenging pieces, sections often choose to get together during the week to work on the pronunciation and music, and polish our parts in a social setting. In addition, private lessons with Carlos and Bethany are available by arrangement.

Cantares meets at 7.30pm each Monday during school terms, in Scots’ Presbyterian Hall, Alexandra Street, Berry. Please come along and join us. Enquiries to Teresa 0432 631 612.

If any Ladies out there are wondering what to do on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, come and join the ladies of Berry Evening VIEW club. We meet at 6.30 for 7.00 at Berry Bowling Club, for a pleasant meal and friendly company. Our guest speakers are varied, and often leave us wanting more information. Our guest speaker for September is Donna Rogers, programme coordinator for Learning For Life. This will be very interesting, because it will give us an insight as to how our donations are used, and how the recipients benefi t from the help given to the View clubs of Australia and the Smith Family, who work tirelessly to raise money to help disadvantaged families, and sponsor students helping them to reach their goals in education and future careers. They do this in many ways, one of them being Smith Family opportunity shops. The Smith family operates 20 retail outlets in NSW and the ACT. These shops provide a dual benefi t, a source of affordable clothing for low income families, plus all income is returned to the charity, helping many people. The nearest store in this area is at 283/285 Keira Street, Wollongong .Everything donated to this charity is used in one way or another, nothing is wasted, and that is very good to know in these “throw away” days. For those who would like to come to our September coffee morning we will be at DELICIOUS, in Albert Street, on Sept 4th at 10 30 , we look forward to seeing you.

The Town Crier is a community newspaper produced monthly by the Berry Alliance. Our current circulation is 2300 copies. The Town Crier is distributed around Berry and its outer lying areas.
