• A manufacturing order represents a promise of inventory on a certain date.
• It is used for material planning, capacity planning, available to promise, component scheduling, costing, variance accounting, and more.
• Splitting MOs is an easy process that allows you to schedule the same order on multiple completion dates
• Expedite a portion of the order
• Split to meet capacity requirements
• Why do all MOs from XA end in a zero? To allow up to 9 “splits”.
