Name of the project

The name of our project on which we will do work is Coupons.com . Our project will

base on ASP.NET with coding in C#, xml, html, JavaScript, css .

It will be general website for users so that they can get the coupons of various products of

many companies. On this website we will provide coupons online at home to users or

clients.

In the project , there will be two user only Admin and client user.

Admin will have authority to enter new company and coupons of the companies.

He could also be able to update and delete the company as well as coupons of the

companies.

The client user could register and create its accounts. Client could select company 1st and

then coupon of the company. And will able to print the coupon of that.

Statement about the problem

Till now in coupon system there is no security whether a particular coupon is legal

or not and also it is very difficult to maintain and update the record of various coupons.

Moreover, most of the work involved in the process has to be done manually which is

very time consuming and cumbersome and also, it reduces the efficiency, accuracy and

speed of retrieval of data. It is not that no effort has been made towards this end. An

attempt to get the complete working automated failed as the system could not be

integrated into a functional whole. We feel that this shortcoming becoming glaringly

evident. A discussion with our project guide produce enthusiastic response and we decide

to take the challenge.

If we use an online coupon system then it is not possible for anyone to use duplicate

coupons. It will be very easy to maintain and update the various coupons provided by

various companies. It will also be less time consuming then the traditional coupon

system.

If any user requested for any coupon in traditional coupons system then he will have to

do a lot of hard word. But in online coupon system he/she can get easily coupons at

home.

Why is the particular topic choose ?

We choose this project because traditional couponing is not so effective in maintain and

update the record of system. Also the traditional coupning system is not so secure. So we

want to make an alternative of the traditional couponing. That will represents the most

flexible, effective, fraud-resistant, print-from-the-web coupon solution available in the

marketplace. And will also be offers users coupons which they could print at home, then

will able to redeem at retailers.

Traditional coupons are not so much secure. Someone can make a duplicate of any

coupon in a traditional coupon system. But it is not possible in this couponing system

here we can easily check if the given coupon is right or wrong in our database.

In traditional coupon system a lot of efforts & time is required. But in online coupons

system anyone can get coupons online at home. He will not have to do any hard work. He

will get an print of his coupon directly.

It is also suitable for a company to make changes in his coupon database. So a very less

effort required by a company to maintain coupon system then a traditional coupon

system.

Thus to overcome all the above limitations of traditional couponing system we make this

project.

Objective and scope of the project

The main objectives and the scope of the project will be :-

Providing user friendly interface

Keeping coupons records online

To get all the information about the various categories and subcategories of

coupons online

Easy access of data

Easy maintenance

Maintaining data consistency

Providing better performance

Increasing the efficiency through automation

Adequate validation checks for data entry

Facility to update the data time to time

Adequate security of the database

Coupons.com will provides coupon marketing and technology solutions for publishers

and advertisers. The project is based on ASP.NET with coding in C#. The use of this

project is simple and secure.

It will be a three tier project. These three tiers are following:-

1. Database tier

2. Business tier

3. Presentation tier

This project will have the various type coupons of various companies which will be

stored in database. So we will use SQL SERVER 2008 to store all the data about various

type of coupons related to various company’s. We will use some stored procedures to

ignore the security leakage.

We will use ASP.NET 4.0 to make Business tier in C# language. By using C# language

we will make DLL(Dynamic Linked Libraries) . These libraries have all the coding

which will be used to insert data , select data, update data, delete data from a database .

we will use DLL files because these will be highly secure.

For presentation tier , we will use a set of .net languages. These will be following-

XML will be used for sitemapping. It will provide fast links for various parts of

the website.

HTML will be used for static designing of website. All the static designing of

pages will be done in it.

JAVASCRIPT will be used for some dynamic effects. It uses a java enabled web

browser to execute.

CSS will also be used for designing. It will be used make our website attractive

and good looking.

C#. NET will be used for logic development for the project. It will be used for asp

pages.

In this step we may analyze the processing capabilities of the system on which the

proposed system will be developed and the specification may be divided into two

categories namely:

ASP.NET 4.0 will be used for developing the web pages.

C#. NET will be used for logic development for the project.

SQL SERVER will be used for managing the database at server side.

INTERNET EXPLORER will be used to run this website.

IIS SERVER will be used to deploy this website.

XML will be used for sitemapping.

HTML will be used for static designing of website.

JAVASCRIPT will be used for some dynamic effects.

CSS will also be used for designing.

3. OS required

Microsoft Windows XP / higher version of Windows OS required.

Testing technologies to be used

The testing technologies for the project are Internet explorer and the IIS (Internet

Information server).

The main output of the project will be seems in internet explorer. Internet explorer will

execute the asp pages made by using ASP.NET 4.0 . It will provide the view of our

website that how it looks and will it work or not?

The IIS is the part of operating system and it is present at the server side not the

developer side. It will be used to deploy our website over the internet so that anyone on

internet can open & use this website.

CONTRIBUTION MAKE BY PROJECT

This project will make a lot of contribution to solve the problems associated with
