Established as a multi-faceted design company, Synthesize brings together Architecture, Masterplanning, Interior Design, Product Design and Fine Arts. A dedicated team of professional designers, Synthesize combines many decades of expertise in these fields to create carefully crafted solutions for all our projects. We pride ourselves in developing innovative designs for high-profile and humble projects alike.

Position at Synthesize: Chief Executive Officer

Enzo is a licensed Architect and Project Manager with over 20 years international experience, having designed and managed a wide range of very high-profile projects. He has extensive design and technical experience spanning from high-rise office and hotel towers to aircraft hangars acquired through projects undertaken in many different countries including the UAE, UK, Italy, Holland, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, China and Saudi Arabia. He loves to bring his design expertise to the smallest objects and is therefore an avid product designer.

Enzo obtained his Master of Architecture diploma from Politecnico di Torino in Turin, Italy and is a licensed professional architect in the United Kingdom. He is a former member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Association for Project Management in the UK.

Jeff Schofield

Position at Synthesize: Managing Director

Jeff Schofield is an American architect with over 30 year’s professional experience in the United States, Europe and the Middle East. As an architect practicing in the UAE for the past 13 years, Jeff’s expertise is sustainable building design and construction. He leads the effort to incorporate sustainability into all the projects on which he collaborates, be they large or small.

Jeff manages teams of architects and engineers working on high-quality architectural projects. He has delivered masterplans and high-rise buildings in recent years, along with many other building types, including airports, hotels, offices, residential and commercial buildings. He has extensive experience in coordinating teams to deliver design and construction projects on time and within the client’s budget.

Jeff obtained his Master of Architecture diploma from Columbia University in New York City, and is a licensed professional architect in the State of New York. He is an active member of the American Institute of Architect’s Middle East Chapter, is a LEED Accredited Professional with the U. S. Green Building Council. Ghantoot Boarding School, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Located in Ghantoot, near the border between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, this school is based upon the British boarding school model, and is intended to prepare students for entry into university. Designed to accommodate day students from the UAE as well as boarders from regional countries, the school comprises academic facilities and residences for students and staff. In addition there are generous outdoor sports facilities, which combine to create a high-end school campus with a strong academic program. The total built-up area is 45,000 square meters. The boarding school master plan is designed for easy vehicular access, distinctly separated from the pedestrian public spaces comprising the academic campus itself. Parking is provided all around the buildings as close as possible to the entrances. Service access is separately provided to strategic points for deliveries and back of house functions. The campus itself remains an oasis of pedestrian activities, a sustainable community well integrated into its context.

The academy building heights are Ground + 2 Floors, accessed by stairs to encourage a healthy lifestyle and to reduce energy costs due to lifts. The buildings are simple in form and efficient in layout. The structures are grouped closely for easy pedestrian access and to shade each other. The classroom structures are emphasized as the most visible architectural components of the campus, while the residential and athletic facilities are grouped nearby as a covered village. Together they create a distinctive modern image of a new boarding school concept.

Ganthoot Boarding School

Ministry of Interior Academy, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Located at the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, this academy comprises classrooms and related academic facilities, as well as residences for students and staff. The total built-up area is 85,000 square meters, along with additional outdoor facilities for sports and public gatherings. This is a sustainable campus designed with low-rise structures grouped around courtyards with lush vegetation. Each courtyard has a different character depending on the functions surrounding it. The academy buildings are sited near the existing compound on the site, in order to allow for all facilities to be used in synergy with each other. The academy structures are grouped closely for easy pedestrian access and to shade each other. The buildings are simple in form and efficient in layout. The two special structures are the most important academic buildings located in the heart of the campus and defining the character of the entire oasis. The academy public spaces are located on the ground floor, accessible to visitors and residents alike. The secure spaces are on the upper floors, accessed only by authorized people with security clearance. This includes secure access to Faculty, Accommodation and Academic Support spaces. Pedestrian walkways and bridges provide easy communication between all parts of the campus, while ensuring appropriate security at all access points. These are all G+2 buildings, accessed by stairs to encourage a healthy lifestyle and to reduce energy costs due to lifts. The modular planning allows for easy extension of the facilities in the future. There are two ways to enlarge the campus. One is to extend the three Faculty buildings and add more accommodation and support spaces next to them. The other is to add a fourth Faculty building along with new accommodation and support spaces.
