    Functional SafetyEngineering I/II Syllabus

    Process Applications

    This course provides an overview of functional safety engineering from the point of view

    of the Risk Analyst or Process Engineerfor the first 2 days, and theControl/Instrumentation Engineer for the second 2 days. Covering the full safety life cycle, in-

    cluding the basics of risk analysis, requirements creation and management, Safety In-

    tegrity Level (SIL) determination using risk graphs and Layer of Protection Analysis,

    Safety Instrumented System (SIS) design / verification.
