INTERMODAL: OUR BOLD NEW FRONTIER
JERRY BELL, VP OF SALES,JOINS SYFAN LOGISTICS
SyfanSays WINTER | 201
If you visited ouroffices in the past12 months, youvelikely witnessed a lotof commotion. Fora while, you wouldhave seen a modularoffice trailer planted
in the middle of ourmain parking lot. Inside our main office, you would have heard power drills andhammers as the walls came down to createmore space. You certainly couldnt miss allthe fresh faces filling new work stations.
In our last newsletter, I asked WhatsHappening Out There? in reference to therebounding economy. This time aroundyou might ask me, Whats HappeningIn There?
The simple answer is Intermodal. SyfanLogistics is unequivocally, undeniably, andindisputably fully vested in Intermodal the complex delivery of products bymultiple modes of transportation.
With the improving economy, we havebeen growing naturally along with ourcustomers increasing shipping needs. Butour full-scale entry into the Intermodalbusiness feels like being shot out of acannon. Already, we have doubled ourteam from a year ago with nearly 150
professionals and we are tracking toward200 by the end of this year.
Our new Intermodal division could wellrepresent over a third of our business inthe near future. Globally, Intermodal iscurrently the fastest-growing sector of thetransportation industry, so our timingcouldnt be better. Nearly 25 millioncontainers and trailers travel the UnitedStates every year using a combination of
trucks, rail, and ocean carriers.
Havent we always done Intermodal? You might say Syfan has always providedIntermodal services, but now we have theexperience to back up our expertise. Thecatalyst has been our recent partnershipwith a major rail company and a nationalparcel delivery service. Consequently,we dont just coordinate the occasionalIntermodal shipment. We handle it on adaily basis.
On the heels of our momentum, wehave branched out to serve numerousother Intermodal customers, leadingus to establish a new division, SyfanIntermodal. Our Intermodal team is ledby James Syfan along with Jon Couchand Brian Miller.
Our success still hinges on people, serviceThe coordination of truck, rail, andshipping is complex. However, oursuccess still goes back to the basics.
A tradition of old-fashioned service.Relationships and networking across the
country. Open communication with ourcustomers. Our strong team of carrierpartners. And industry-leading innovationwith advanced technology such as ourGPS tracking systems.
We have much to be thankful for this pasholiday season and at the start of a New
Year. I would like to thank all of you ouemployees, customers and partners forbeing a part of our growth and success.Best wishes for a happy and blessed 2015.

Syfan Logistics has been named the Industry of the Year within
its home base of Gainesville-Hall County, Ga., just north of
Atlanta.
Syfan was selected by the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce
as the regions top industry in the medium-size category for
companies with 51 to 200 employees.
We want to thank all our people who work at Syfan Logistics for
this honor, says Syfan CEO Jim Syfan. They are the ones who
get the job done and we couldnt possibly do what we do withoutall the fine people who work with us. We are honored by this
award and blessed to do business in Hall County.
Syfan Logistics serves the most demanding shipping needs for
temperature-controlled, dry vans or flatbed loads.
The company was founded by Jim Syfan and his sons, Greg and
Steve, in 2011 and has grown to nearly 150 employees. In three
years, Syfan Logistics has launched new products, increased sales,
expanded and renovated its facilities, and added new equipment
and new jobs.
Syfan Logistics, which was honored earlier this year as one of theTop 100 3PLs by Inbound Logistics, makes a $21 million annual
economic impact on Gainesville-Hall County.
Each year, the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce honors
small, medium and large industries at its annual Industry
Awards Luncheon. The Chamber bases selection for the award
on company growth, ethics, programs for employees and
contributions to the community. There are more than 300
manufacturers, processors, distributors and service industry
companies based in Hall County.
Syfan Logistics has been named one
of the Top 100 Third-Party Logisticsproviders for 2014 by Inbound Logistics
magazine, a national trade publicationcovering the transportation industry.
It is the first time that Syfan Logistics, founded in 2011, has earned a place in the Top 100.
Each year, Inbound Logistics editors research, conduct personal
interviews and evaluate information about logistics companies froaround the country to determine its Top 100. The honor is award
based on criteria such as operational excellence, innovation, netwocustomer relationships, and quality of services.
As a young company it is very rewarding to be named to the Toplist because it shows we are providing the service our customers ne
and expect, says Syfan Logistics CEO Jim Syfan. Its a testament
to our people, our culture, and our ability to deliver results for ourcustomers. This serves as reaffirmation of our customer-first philoand recognition of our growth.
Inbound Logistics is the leading trade magazine targeted toward
business logistics and supply chain managers.
When Inbound Logistics editors select the Top 100 3PL provide
they carefully analyze how a logistics solutions provider enablesscalability for its customers, Inbound Logistics Editor Felecia
Stratton says. 3PLs today must produce direct savings for shipperby optimizing the transport network, reducing inventory-to-sales
ratios, or advancing the order-to-cash cycle. But its just as importa
for a logistics partner to act as a business change agent, driving thecustomers ability to match demand for their products more closelto supply, aligning enterprise operational performance to the large
economic trend. That is what Syfan Logistics does, and why IL edhave selected Syfan Logistics as a 2014 Top 100 3PL.

Syfan Supports Toys for Tots
Once again this holiday season, Syfan Logistics and Turbo Truck Center collected presents for the U.S.
Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots. We collected 348 gifts for area children to enjoy at Christmas, so we
were able to give each child two toys and one stocking stuffer. We are proud of our team for taking part inthe Toys for Tots program.
