TRANSCRIPT

1. Iron & roll the edge several times until you get midway up the scarf

2. Roll the second half with fingers at each edge

3. Sew the edge on both sides of the triangle

4. Put 2 hooks on the wall. Repeat for each mob, six, patrol etc .

There might have to be hooks at different heights for different sections or different rope lenghts

The ropes can be put up at various heights by the various patrols before parade. Names to be on all scarves on the tip. Poles can be inside or outside the hall or in a den. Cross bars on the windows ? use those.

Practice all the knots !

Keep a small box of ropes and carabiners, hooks etc Or scouts make /bring their own.

After opening parade they practice any knot to attach their scarf to the pole (or there is a knot of the night)

The pole should change with each new Sixer, PL etc. Write, burn, paint poles & names on the pole

Customization of the patrol pole can be encouraged

Don’t over engineer the activity, let them make up all sorts of ideas.

Maybe someone will make a STAND (2 uprights and cross pole )

Good luck
