Cobble Hill School and Boy & Girls H.S.).• Connection with Brooklyn Historical Society, farmer's market

and Groundswell.• Existing annual programs (i.e. Family Day August 2010).• Consistent/ sufficient funding• Existing space• Existing regular workshops

• Visibility; within community, mostly limited to elementary school field trips and school programs.

• Conditions of surrounding neighborhood (lack of retail, disinvestment in community).

• Connection to past and present domestic life.• “Living history" a chance to engage community in unique way.• New building and performance space coming soon.• Unique/new/different historical perspective than usual (Civil War

or Civil rights).• Unique story to share on how African Americans contributed at

that time period to Brooklyn.• Identity still exists in terms of continuing (yet smaller)

neighborhood of same name.• Celebration of diversity of previous/original community as theme

and connection to today.
