Personal Who could be

the “Shark”?

You will encounter “sharks” in your life

Page 8: Swimming with sharks

If a shark is coming towards you,

rather than panicking, swimming

away or being paralyzed by fear,

face the shark head on

If you don’t act like prey, sharks

won’t treat you like one

Swimming with Sharks Lessons 1

Replace fear with

knowledge and courage on

how to deal with a

dangerous situation

Lesson

Page 9: Swimming with sharks

Look at the shark in the eye

Once you make eye contact, the

shark knows you have seen it and

therefore take its advantage away

This keeps the shark from slipping

into its instinctive predatory mode

When you face your fears,

they no longer control you

and you are in control

instead

Page 10: Swimming with sharks

When you are around sharks you

need to be 100% focused

If you are less than 100% focused,

they will sneak in and seize the

advantage

Giving your full attention to

what matters in work and

life is essential for your

success

Lesson

Page 11: Swimming with sharks

Sharks have several different attack

methods:

Swim right up and attack

Circle for awhile before lunging

Sneak up from behind

To defend against the shark, you

must know where it is

Don’t take your eyes

of your competitors; anticipate

what they plan to do

Page 12: Swimming with sharks

If you can't get out of the water

right away, try to reduce the

shark's possible angles of

attack

Stay calm, keep still without

any sudden movement

Get into a defensive

position when under attack

and plan your counter-

attack

When faced with “sharks”,

ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE

and

Beat the hell out of them

The BIGGEST Lesson . . .

Page 14: Swimming with sharks

“Every challenge in your life

works out in the long run. If

you can adopt this mindset,

you’ll face your challenges

with the knowledge and

courage that it all works out in

the end. You’ll no longer fear

them and you’ll look forward

to the lessons to be learned

from every experience”

James A. Murphy

“Everyone faces

challenges in life. It’s a

matter of how you learn

to overcome them and

use them to your

advantage”

Celestine Chua
