Megan Soisson—WSY Graduating Class of 2009

Megan Soisson has worked at NBC Sports since 2013, and in that time has covered three Olym-pic Games, as well as the NHL, NFL, Premier League and college football. She traveled to Rio, Brazil, in 2016 and PyeongChang, South Korea, in February to work as a researcher/writer on NBCSN's Olympic coverage. Her job also took her to Pittsburgh and San Jose in 2016 for the Stanley Cup Finals, where she watched her beloved Penguins lift the Cup in six games. After swimming at West Shore Y for 8 years and graduating from Mechanicsburg Area Senior High in 2009, Megan attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in health policy and was the sports editor of Penn's student newspaper, The Daily Pennsylvanian.

Advice for swimmers: I know it drags going to practice everyday, but take advantage of your time as a swimmer, because you never realize how fast it will go. Enjoy yourself while you can, set goals, and work as hard as you can to reach them. Nothing feels better than getting the time you wanted, or winning that one race.

Advice for swimmers: Have fun and enjoy the time you have. As you get older your life will get busier with school work, jobs and clubs so let swimming be your escape and something you look forward to everyday. Battle through the pain of practice and early mornings and work your hardest even when you don’t feel like it.

And lean on your team for support and success because more than likely, your teammates will need you too!
