I have been withBickford Cottage for 8years. My husband of20 years, Jamie, and Ihave a running totalof 5 children. Jamiehas 4 children, 1 girland 3 boys, and I have1 son. They haveblessed us with 17beautifulgrandchildren! WithJamie’s job bringingus to Grand Islandabout 16 years ago,and most of themliving in or close toIowa, and a couple ofthem in Lincoln, wemake a lot of tripsback home to seethem. So, I guess youcould say this is whatwe do in our sparetime! My hobbiesinclude; being withmy grandchildren, myflower beds,

yard work, & sittingon my patio with myhusband discussing ournext yard project! Inthe winter we do a lotof redecorating in thehouse. I am the“designer” and myhusband is the“laborer!” I can comeup with thedecorating ideas, but Idon’t dare try toexecute them!I have many blessingin my life, working atBickford being one ofthem. The residentsand my co/workersare a huge blessing inmy life. I havebecome a part ofsomething “biggerthan myself." Isn’tthat what life is allabout?

1 pound spiced gumdrops1 pound candy corn1 can (16 ounces) salted peanuts

DIRECTIONS: In a large bowl, combine the gumdrops,candy corn and peanuts. Store in an airtightcontainer. Yield: 2 quarts.

Fallhas arrived and we areso extcited to see all thebeautiful colors changingoutdoors. We are soexcited to go out onscenic drives in our newBickford Bus-Howie.
