Sherri is a returning and well-attended pianist & friend that is always a joy to hear. As her fingers whip across the piano, songs pour out– anything from a swinging waltz to a foot tapping polka to an upbeat, good-old fashioned rag. Residents enjoyed Sam’s ‘mini concert,’ which was filled with many amusing stories and familiar, nostalgic tunes. “All I want is having you and music, music, Doctor Day of Recognition March 20th was National Recognition of Long Term Care Physicians Day. On the 22nd staff and residents held a potluck to celebrate this day and give thanks to Dr. Carly Robertson. She has been serving as the Medical Director at Sweet Home for 2 years now. Staff and residents are all thankful for the care she provides and the friendship she has built with each of them. Vivienne Brainard National Coca-Cola Day was March 29th. In honor of the day, staff and residents enjoyed a coca-cola themed dining area, complete with displays and cokes to drink. Various staff and residents also wore their coca-cola shirts or red and white to celebrate. Coca-cola was invented in 1886 and is still a tasty treat! National Potato Chip Day was March 15th. Sweet Home tasted 7 different kinds of Lay’s chips after lunch. It was unanimous that the Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese were the least favorite. Lay’s Classic chips reached the most votes for overall favorite, followed by Southern Biscuits & Gravy, Dill Pickle and Honey Barbeque were close in the contest. Even the Flamin’ Hot received a fair amount of votes. Just goes to show that the Classics are the best. Coca-Cola Day Residents enjoyed Dive Into Culture: India this month. They had the opportunity to try curry chicken, listened to traditional Indian music and watched scenes from Bollywood movies. “Dum-dee, dum-dee, dah-dee-dum….”

This month residents enjoyed the musical tal-ents of Sherri Miller (left) and Sam Blatter
