About the Society of Women Engineers
What we do: Professional Development Outreach Diversity and Inclusion Mentorship Socials Technical Skills Development
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a not-for-profit educational and service organization that empowers women to succeed and advance in the field of engineering. SWE-UCLA is in the Sonora Region B so our mascot is the bee!

Winter: Wow! That’s Engineering DayWe host ~100 Girl Scouts ranging from 3rd through 10th grades (majority are 3rd through 6th)Full day event involving presentations for students and parents, hands on engineering activities for the Girl Scouts, and a UCLA Engineering club fairObjective: spark interest in engineering through hands-on activities

What does the Outreach Commitee do?From the SWE Mission Statement:
To stimulate women to achieve full potential in
careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving
the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity.
To inform young women, their parents, counselors, and the
general public of the qualifications and achievements of
women engineers and the opportunities open to them.
We strive to accomplish this through three main events over
the academic year.

How the Committee is Organized
