through mainly three ways, interactive commu-nity projects, educational trainings that facilitate mentoring of the Lawton-Ft. Sill middle school SWAT team and role mod-eling for other youth, and policy advocacy. The Lawton-Ft. Sill SWAT Team dedicates all of its time and energy into creating informational, interesting, interactive, and fun op-portunities for the com-munity to reach out to the youth and expose the lies of Big Tobacco.
The Lawton-Ft. Sill SWAT team consists of a grow-ing group of high school students from all three high schools in the imme-diate area. All our mem-bers are determined to nip the tobacco industry in the cigarette butt. With the goal of exposing the lies of Big Tobacco, the team hopes to fulfill our mission statement, To Empower and Unite Youth to Resist and Expose Big Tobacco’s Lies while Changing Current Atti-tudes about Tobacco! The team hopes to get the message across to any adult in our community and in the nation who can
and will do something to better the community and the country, but the team’s primary target audience is today’s
youth. Today’s youth is the strongest force against the tobacco in-dustry because without us they have no future customers. These goals and our mission state-ment are achieved
Our objective with this exhibit is to show, through different pieces of art, how tobacco af-fects the lives of the members of our commu-nity. Additionally the SWAT Youth hope to im-prove the health of our community by educating
people about the haz-ards of second hand smoke through emotive and educational pieces of art. This exhibit in-cludes seven exhibits, Tribute Wall, Testimo-nial Video, Event Video, Through Another’s Eyes, Shoe Tribute, Cigarette
Display, and The Last One. The Team hopes for these exhibits to be edu-cational, interactive, and emotionally moving. We thank every one who comes and encourage you to fill out an evalua-tion before you leave. THANKS!

Tribute Wall Over 100 tiles were created when we featured this wall in Central Mall in De-cember. Community members paid trib-ute to loved ones lost to tobacco, pledged to be to-bacco free or gave encouragement to loved ones trying to
quit. These will be the first 100 pieces displayed on the wall but visi-tors of the exhibit are encouraged to utilize the paper and markers avail-able to create their own tiles on the wall. The idea for this wall was in-
spired by other SWAT teams throughout Okla-homa who have engaged their com-munity in thinking about how tobacco affects all of us by publicly creating and displaying walls like this one.
