requirements of IS: 12207-2008. This should be looked into for necessary corrective action.
i) Under ballasted gear performance test,
15% wheel slip has not been achieved in any gear. Hence tractor does not meet the requirement of the IS:12226-1995 (Reaffirmed in 2014). This should be looked into for necessary corrective action while designing the transmission characteristics.
ii) During ten hours drawbar performance test, creeping of LHS & RHS rear tyre
over the rims was observed as 10 & 20
mm respectively. This should be looked into for necessary corrective action.
14.4.1.3 Hydraulic Performance Test:
i) Total drop in height of lift during lift load maintenance test was recorded as 150 mm against the preferably maximum requirement of 50 mm, and calls for necessary corrective action.
i) The lifting force capacity with coupled
frame has been recorded as 9.26 kN and moment about rear axle was
computed as 13.89 kN, whereas moment about front axle is computed
as 13.71 kN. The moment about rear axle with coupled frame is on higher side as compared to moment about front axle. It is therefore recommended that the lifting capacity of hydraulic system may be reduced suitably or standard ballast recommendation may be reviewed to avoid front lifting of tractor.
ii) During hydraulic performance test, sticking of spring of relief valve and foreign material was found in the hydraulic system. Relief valve assembly (Part No. P783059) was replaced with new one of same specification also dust, dirt and other foreign material was removed through compressed air. This breakdown has
been categorized under Mn-18 as per IS:12207-2019. This should be looked into necessary action at production level.

15.3 Salient Observations:
15.3.1 Laboratory tests:
15.3.1.1 PTO Performance Test:
i) The maximum PTO power was recorded as 14.8 kW against the declaration
of 15.1 kW, which meets the requirement of IS: 12207-2019 with regard to tolerance limit.
ii) The specific fuel consumption corresponding to maximum power was
recorded as 256 g/kWh against the declaration of 272 g/kWh, which is within the tolerance limit of IS: 12207-2019.

iii) The maximum equivalent crankshaft torque was recorded as 98.6 N-m
against the declaration of 103.2 N-m, which is within the permissible limit as specified in IS: 12207-2019.
iv) The backup torque is 15.2 % meets the requirement of IS: 12207-2019
v) The drop in maximum PTO Power of 4.1% was recorded between natural and high ambient condition and which is on higher side. Therefore, this should be looked into for necessary corrective action.
15.3.1.2 Drawbar performance test:
i) Under ballasted gear performance test, 15% wheel slip has not been achieved in any gear. Hence tractor does not meet the requirement of the IS:12226-1995 (Reaffirmed in 2014). This should be looked into for necessary corrective action while designing the transmission characteristics.
ii) During ten hours drawbar performance test, creeping of LHS & RHS rear tyre
over the rims was recorded as 10 & 20 mm respectively. This should be looked into for necessary corrective action.
15.3.1.3 Hydraulic performance test:
i) The lifting force capacity with coupled frame has been recorded as 9.26 kN
and moment about rear axle was computed as 13.89 kN, whereas moment
about front axle is computed as 13.71 kN.
This breakdown
has been categorized under Mn-18 as per IS:12207-2019. This should be looked into necessary action at production level.
15.3.1.4 Mechanical Vibration:
The amplitude of mechanical vibration on various assemblies marked as (*) in Chapter – 9 of this test report is on higher side. This calls for dampening down of vibrations especially on LHS & RHS foot rest, operator’s seat & steering control wheel to improve the operational comfort and service life of components.
15.3.1.5 Specifications of three point linkage:
i) The parameter Lateral distance from lower hitch point to centre line of tractor does not meet the requirement of IS: 4468 (Part-1) -1979 (Reaffirmed 2014). This should be looked into for necessary corrective action.
ii) Some of the parameters of three point linkage conform to Cat. I and some of them conform to Cat.II. Keeping in view the spirit of standardization, necessary improvement may be incorporated.
15.3.1.6 Adjustments, Defects, Breakdowns And Repairs
During specification checking of tractor, hydraulic system was not working due to damage of ‘o’-ring of relief valve. Thereafter, ‘o’-ring (Part No. P281307) was replaced with new one of same specification and tests were conducted. This
breakdown is categorized under “Mn-21” as per IS:12207-2019. This should be looked into for necessary corrective action.
15.4 Maintenance / Service Problems:
No noticeable maintenance / service problem was observed during the test.

15.5 Recommendation with regard to safety on tractor:
The following requirements, inter alia, may be considered for incorporation on the tractor:
i) There should be provision for spark arresting device in exhaust system.
ii) There should be provision of differential lock.
iii) The working clearance between the position and draft control lever should be provided as per relevant standard.
iv) There should be provision to attach trailer brake valve.
15.6 Adequacy of Literature supplied with machine:
15.6.1 Following literature of tractor was supplied with the test sample for reference during the test and the supplied literature was found adequate
