Directors’ notesI first saw The Constant Wife about ten years ago, during the Spolleto Festival, when I was living in Charleston, SC and knew it would be a perfect play for the Strand Theater. I have been blessed to have assembled the perfect cast from those who auditioned, for this production. Perfect in the sense that the group you shall see on the stage tonight quickly found their characters, fleshed them out and needed very little guidance in turning a script into a performance! I am proud and humbled to say that they made my job as director one of the easiest I have ever done! Many thanks to Roger, our set designer/painter and to my set decorator lee and everyone who helped create this marvelous setting. Thanks to Pookie and Tracy for costumes and to Taylor for our poster. A multitude of thanks to my cast for putting up with me and allowing me to have my name attached to their great performance! And a very special thanks to you, our patrons for supporting the Swamp Fox Players and the performing arts!

Jan powers Fort [Mrs. Culver] is the Minister of Music at Jamestown Baptist Church of Conway and teaches Kindermusik for The Music Studio of George-town. Being a huge DISney fan, in 2002, she started the world popular blog DIxIe DISney Belle SPeAKS. Active with SFP since 1987 in various roles from actor, director, and her favorite…stage manager. She was last seen onstage in SFP production of Souvenir as Florence Foster Jenkins. She wishes to thank her family for allowing her to do something other than being a domestic God-dess and wishes to thank all of you for supporting our local theatre! God Bless!

warren umstead [Bentley, the Butler] is retired from the Du Pont Co. where he was an International Marketing Mgr. He traveled extensively around europe with an extended tour to Japan to share his knowledge and expertise. During his college days he was involved tirelessly with many music and performing arts programs. Warren, along with his family, moved to the Grand Strand area in 1969 where he has participated in many productions and community projects, both on and off the stage. Warren enjoys being a part of the cast and crew in many SFP’s productions.

marcy Carl [Martha Culver] is no stranger to the Swamp Fox Players. She has been on stage for Oklahoma! and The Dixie Swim Club. Marcy has been in-volved in community theater since high school. She works at Georgetown Pres-byterian Church as Director of the Preschool and Child Development center. She is married to Bruce and they have two four legged children, Annie (golden retriever) and Winston (shih tzu). Marcy spent four years with the new york Metropolitan opera before calling Georgetown Home.

stacy rabon [Barbara Fawcett] has appeared with the Swamp Fox Play-ers in Always…Patsy Cline, Night Mother, Doubt, It Had To Be You and Mornings At Seven. Her big Hollywood moment to date was playing Cher’s mother in the film MASK. Her training as a stunt woman for MGM stu-dios has kept her fit and well adjusted for owning and running several successful businesses here in the low Country and being one of the 2010 Vanity Fair 50 Most Powerful Women.

ariane u. Lieberman [Constance Middleton] has been with SFP for 18 years, with her first play, Murder in the Magnolias, to last years Sex Please, We’re Sixty, and many foreign plays in between. She enjoys the challenge of learning new languages with exotic accents! She attended the Royal Academy of Theatre in london before changing majors and moving back to the States to study medi-cine, which she found much easier. When not acting, she is busy with her prac-tice, ocean Cardiology. Her interests include biking (as in Harley), skiing, alliga-tor wrestling, and sleeping, which she gets very little of. Her favorite role is that of wife and mother to husband Craig, and son Mace, her # 1 stars!

pamela streicher [Marie louise] is a single mother of two beautiful girls, Jordan and Kayla, and is a Sr. Financial Analyst for International Paper. For excitement she plays sports, works out, frolics at the beach, reads, dabbles in theater and sings lead in the popular local girl band DAnGeRouS DIVAS AFTeRDARK. She was the “nun gone bad” in The Dixie Swim Club, the flirt turned vampire lucy in Dracula, and road kill in the movie production The Bay. “I have the best Mom in the world without whom I could not have all this fun on the stage!”

Jeff siegrist [John Middleton] is a community theater veteran. His credits with Swamp Fox Players include Barefoot in the Park, Oklahoma!, The Sensuous Sena-tor, and Wait Until Dark. Jeff and his wife Mary live at Pawleys Island and are the parents of three grown sons; Joseph, Ben, and Will. Jeff dedicates this per-formance to his big brother Jim, whose theatrical accomplishments continue to inspire.

Joe Ford [Bernard Kersal] has been active with the SFP’s for over 20 years build-ing sets, acting and directing. Most recently Joe directed The Marvelous Won-derettes and The Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps and Gowns. originally from Cali-fornia, Joe lives in Pawleys with his wife Foy. They have 2 wonderful daughters who live in Charlotte. When Joe is not doing something at the theater, he is the owner of Ford Custom Construction, Inc.

Lee padgett [Mortimer Durham] lives in Georgetown and works with Steve and Jean Rothrock. He has been active with the Swamp Fox Players since 1999 and has loved every minute of it. He was last on stage in Out of Order as “the body” and most recently directed the wildly successful Shag dramedy The Porch. In his spare time (what little there is) lee dabbles in politics and is currently test-ing the waters for a bid for Congress with the encouragement of his close friend lindsay Graham. “Thanks Mark, for giving me a shot as Mortimer. It has been wonderful working with this group of talented actors.”
