Our Value for this week is

If any found, please treat their hair before sending them to school. Also, please inform
the school so that we may send a letter out to the relevant year group.
Summer Fair Meeting
There will be a meeting on Wednesday 29
April for the Summer Fair which is to be held
from 7:15pm onwards in the Mandir
(Conference room).
PTFA members and ALL parents are invited to
give their suggestions to make this
a weekend of festivities and fun.
Reception trip to Kew Gardens The Reception children had a lovely day at Kew Gardens on Friday 17th April. We learnt lots about plants and mini-beasts, to link to our learning in class. The children participated in a hands-on workshop where they moved like mini-beasts, hunted for them with magnifying glasses and went on a hunt for petals. They heard stories about pollinating plants and about the importance of seeds. We were even lucky enough to have a visit from a peacock! We then explored a palm house and discovered the differ-ent uses for plants - some surprised us! The palm house also had an aquarium where
we saw 'Nemo' and other fish.
Thank you to all of the parents who came to support us on the trip - you made the day
special.

A Road Safety Officer’s visit
On Tuesday 10th March, the Nursery children had a Visit from the Brent's Road Safety Officer, Mr. Wokil. He shared with the children the rules of crossing a road safely, using the Green cross code and he introduced to them the correct places for crossing, e.g a Zebra crossing and Traffic lights. He ended the session with short role play scenarios, in small groups, which
demonstrated the importance of staying safe on the streets.
Some of the children's thoughts: Shivangi "We have to hold mummy's hand when we cross the road" Shreya E "We have to look left and right before we cross the road." Kumaran "Zebra crossing has black and white stripes."
A Builder’s visit
On 26th March 2015, the Nursery class enjoyed an interesting builder’s work-shop conducted by Mr Iacob (Raoul’s dad). The children were fascinated by the tools from the box and they watched in awe as he constructed a beauti-ful bird’s house for the class. A big thank you to Mr Iacob from the Nursery
class.
Some of the children's thoughts: Jasalba: "You have to be careful, otherwise you hurt your finger" Jaynee: "How are the birds going to come inside?" Yug: "It’s a beautiful house."
A Beautician’s Visit
On Monday 20th April, The children enjoyed having a tattoo session by one of the parents Mrs Mangukiya (Yugs mum), who is a beautician by profes-sion. The children had a brief introduction on why people visit the beauty
parlour and ways of looking after themselves and looking good.
Param’s thoughts: "Mummy goes to the hairdresser.”
Aarush: "I like my bell tattoo."
A Doctor’s Visit
On Tuesday 21st April, Dr Halai (Meera’s mum) visited the Nurse-ry class and showed the children how to use a stethoscope to listen to the heart and an ear otoscope to examine ears. She also showed us how a doctor tests the brain by using movement. The children watched and listened with great interest as she showed
some pictures of internal organs, such as the heart and lungs.
Akshaj “When we are not feeling well, we go to the doctors”.
Sanskruti “You listen to the heart with a stethoscope and doctors
give us stickers.”
