."I am grateful for the privilege to serve as the principal of this premier Engineering institute SVMIT, and very much look for-ward to work with the highly talented SVMIT faculty, staff and students to take the College to new heights."

I am very pleased to have this opportunity to communicate with you through this e-newsletter. Gujarat entered in to a self finance engi-neering education in 1995 with couple of institution to start with. But over the past one and half decade this higher education system has now become an enterprise hav-ing much of business orientation with all its exposure to fierce competition at differ-ent levels of stakeholders. In this scenario the fittest will prevail for a long years to come. It is my endeavor to see that SVMIT remains fit and healthy by adapting a tech-nological change in educational system. It is important for us to re-evaluate our pri-orities and expectations. I wish that favor-able governance, adequate resources and academic value and integrity of SVMIT will induce concentration of talented stu-dents, faculty and researchers from all over the region. I wish together we can reach to number one institute in the region.

It was dream of SVM to start Post graduation at SVMIT. It is matter of pleas-ure and satisfaction that we have started M.E. in Me-chanical with two specializa-tion subjects last year and first batch is out with flying colors. This year we have started two more courses in Mechanical Engineering for P.G. We have also started expanding horizontally in terms of physical infrastruc-ture . Soon we would like to offer PG courses in EC and Electrical also. At this mo-ment I would like to con-gratulate Mechanical Engi-neering Department in gen-eral for coming up to expec-tation and delivering the goods. I wish them all the success for new courses of Advance Manufacturing systems and IC engine and Automobiles. I must also acknowledge the efforts and leadership of Dr. R.G. Kapadia, Principal of the Institute.

On the occasion of release of 2nd issue of ‘SPECTRUM’, it is matter of satisfaction and pride that new feather is added in the crown of SVMIT and SVM in the form of first successful PG batch. Post graduate courses were al-ready offered in other colleges managed by SVM and now SVMIT is also offering PG courses in Mechanical Engi-neering. It is high time to initi-ate PG courses in other branches of engineering also as there is acute shortage of qualified faculty members in the Engineering colleges. I am happy to know and acknowl-edge various activities done by SVMIT. I congratulate the Director, Principal, Head of the Departments , faculty members and staff members of SVMIT. I envision great achievements by SVMIT in coming future. I assure that SVM shall be always ready to boost the growth in any man-ner possible. Congratulations and best wishes for future.
