If you suspect that you are a victim of sexual violence, social workers can accompany you and arrange for the following assistance:

If you choose to call the Police for help, the relevant procedures may include ...

The police would first consider your personal safety. If you need to see a doctor, the police will immediately arrange for you to go to the hospital for treatment.

I 2 Police officers of the same sex will ask you about information related to the case and take statement.

B Depending on the individual circumstances of the case, and with your consent, a forensic pathologist will conduct an examination on you and collect forensic evidence.

4 Your case will be referred to an appropriate investigation unit of where the crime occurred. If necessary, the police may invite you for further enquiry.

Even if you choose not to call the Police, you may attend the A&E Department in hospital if you have medical needs ...

I The nurse at the triage will register your personal information for you.

Escort Service

If the victim is a child, he/she must be accompanied by his/her parent/guardian, unless his/her parent/guardian is the person involved.

Adult victims may also be accompanied by a family member or a friend, if they so wish, when assisting in the investigation.

B The A&E doctor will provide you with the necessary medical treatment, such as urine test, blood test, and post-coital contraception within 72 hours (may extend to 120 hours) of

5 Upon completion of all procedures, you can go home and rest.
