I s t h e D e s i g n D i s c e r n i n g ?We wanted to incorporate new design into the style of the vehicle without losing its individuality. The Baleno combines a low and wide form for outstanding stability with a body shaped by dynamically flowing curves. This painstaking attention to design is what grabs the viewer’s heart and refuses to let it go.

Advanced Multi-information DisplayWhen you slip into the driver’s seat, the first thing you notice is the information display at the centre of the instrument cluster, which gives a clear picture of the state of the car. This advanced multi-information display has a 4.2-inch colour LCD screen (GLX) that intuitively conveys a range of information such as fuel efficiency, engine output, average vehicle speed and driving results.

1.4L EngineBeneath the flowing lines of the bonnet is 1.4L engine designed in the pursuit of maximum energy efficiency. The 1.4L engine delivers excellent driving performance for both tremendous power and fuel efficiency. The intake VVT, cylinder head, and piston crowns are designed to boost fuel economy, which is enhanced by a great aerodynamic body.

TransmissionA 5-speed manual transmission provides smooth and precise shift feel while its optimal gear ratios benefit fuel economy. A 4-speed automatic transmission is also available for GLX and GL grades.

Braking Assistance:In an emergency braking, an Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) keeps tyres from locking up and adds stability to evasive maneuvers. In addition, a braking assistance function augments stopping power, while Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) helps maintain control by sending the optimum amount of force to the front and rear wheels.

ABS is a device that assists the driver during braking. It does not eliminate the need to drive safely, for example by slowing down when approaching a corner.

Pedestrian Protection:To mitigate the extent of injuries in the event that the car comes into contact with a pedestrian, the Baleno’s bonnet panel, cowl top, wipers, and bumpers are built to absorb impacts.

Light, Energy-Absorbing TECT Body and Airbag System for Protecting OccupantsThe cabin is protected in the event of a collision by a body structure that efficiently absorbs and disperses energies from the front, side, and rear. Another layer of protection is provided by SRS airbags for the driver and front passenger. Safety is further enhanced by SRS side airbags and SRS curtain airbags on the GLX grade.
