OPENING REMARKSWelcome to our sixth annual Festival of Excellence. The event has become an important part of the fabric of our institution. It allows for dialogue across the disciplines in one of the few venues that truly breaks down our university silos. Please join me in finding common ground as we celebrate the wonderful diversity of ideas, backgrounds, and perspectives across SUU’s campus.

SPECIAL THANKSThe 2018 Festival of Excellence represents the culmination of years of labor on the part of our students, faculty and staff. This year’s presentations interrogate a vast array of different topics and offer a truly interdisciplinary look into the excellent work accomplished at Southern Utah University. We’ve had the privilege of working with a talented, capable, and invigorating steering committee who have worked tirelessly to create this unique event and we continue to be in awe of the students, faculty, and staff at SUU.
