Polyglycolic Acid

Norvich Health’s PGA suture is a synthetic absorbable monofilament braided suture composed of polyglycolic acid and a calcium stearate and polycaprolactone coating.

Norvich Health’s Polyglycolic suture has minimal tissue reactivity during the absorption process, superior tensile strength and excellent knotting security. The braided construction ensures that handling and knotting are excellent and the unique lubricant coating remains effectively bonded to the material throughout its use, ensuring smooth passage through tissue and easy knot tie down.

Norvich Health’s PGA suture holds more than 75% of its tensile strength at two weeks and complete absorption takes place in approximately 60 to 90 days.

Applications:Norvich Health’s Polyglycolic Acid is ideal for use in general surgery, orthopedic surgery, obstetric/gynecological surgery, gastro intestinal tract.

Characteristics of Norvich Health’s Polyglycolic Acid (PGA) suture:

• Drill End Press Fit needles for maximum strength between thread and needles• Unique lubricant coated ensures smoother passage through tissue• High tensile strength• Superb Handling properties• Minimal tissue irritation• Secure knot placement• Maintains more than 75% of tensile strength at 14 days• Maintains 50% tensile strength at 21 days• Complete absorption in 60 to 90 days from implantation

Chromic Catgut

Norvich Health’s Catgut Chromic suture is a natural absorbable twisted monofilament suture composed of highly purified connective tissue from both, the serosal layer of bovine intestine or the intestinal sub-mucosa layer of sheep. Chromic gut is processed to provide greater resistance to body enzymes thus increasing absorption time. Norvich Health’s Catgut Chromic has minimal tissue reactivity and a longer absorption period than plain gut. Norvich Health’s Catgut Chromic is of the highest quality with collagen compositions of over 95% ensuring higher tensile strength and absorption times. Norvich Health’s Catgut Chromic suture holds tensile strength on implantation from 18-21 days and complete absorption takes place in approximately 55-75 days.

Applications:Norvich Health’s Catgut Chromic is ideal for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures.

Characteristics of Norvich Health’s Catgut Chromic suture:

• Drill End Press Fit needles for maximum strength between thread and needles• Accurate polishing ensures smoother passage through tissue• High collagen purity• Superb Handling properties• Minimal tissue irritation• Uniform twist spread across the suture length and controlled dying provides high tensile strength• Chromium processing decreases absorption rate and increases tensil strength• Complete absorption in 55 to 75 days from implantation

Packaging: Individually packaged 12 or 36 per box. Also available in reels.
