EAGLE PICHER GRAND SIERRA RESORT

Innovative Design

SES designed a unique Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Plant for EP Minerals. The CHP combines electrical generation with thermal generation to provide very high operational efficiencies. Recently completed, at this very early stage of operation, operating efficiencies have exceeded the design expectations. The anticipated resultant cost savings will provide a return on investment in under 3 years.

Energy Savings

SES worked with GSR facility engineers to identify opportunities for reducing energy usage in their chilled water system. By implementing recommended improvements, the GSR was able to reduce the run time on their second chiller by more than 350 hours in the first month of operation, saving more than 180,000 kWhr and $20,000 in the first month alone.

CARSON VALLEY SWIM CENTER LEXUS OF LAS VEGAS

Solar Thermal

Designed as the primary heating source for the facility's main indoor pool as well as the domestic hot water, the solar thermal system supplies an estimated 85% of the main pools annual energy usage and nearly 100% of the domestic hot water usage. Additional design improvements at the CVSC included implementation of a new dehumidification system that significantly improved air quality in the building.

LEED EB Gold Certification

Providing Lexus of Las Vegas with project management and energy efficiency services for their LEED certification project led to many successes including a 42% reduction in process water use and a 20% reduction in energy use. SES led the dealership through the onerous and detailed LEED EB green building rating process which culminated in a successful LEED Gold Certification.
