Abstract

Competitive advantage is also described the identification of competitive advantage and the assessment of

the same with the global competitive advantage and their divisions. Scanning and analyzing the external

environment for opportunities and threats is not enough to provide an organization a competitive

advantage. Analysis must also look within the corporation itself to identify internal strategic factors those

critical strengths and weaknesses that are likely to determine if the firm will be able to take advantage of

opportunities while avoiding threats. This internal scanning is often referred to as organizational analysis

and is concerned with identifying and developing organizations resources. Evaluate the importance of

these resources to ascertain if they are internal strategic factors those particular strengths and weaknesses

that will help determine the future of the company. Identifying core competence is much harder than

finding the capabilities used by an organization. A starting point for identifying the core competence of

an organization is to dissect the different subsystems that make up the total operating entity. It therefore

makes sense to start the search for the core competence of the organization in its technical subsystem

although this may not be where it is eventually found.
