• In order to rationalise their operations, they recently moved to a warehouse that is 80% smaller their previous premises. This has saved the organisation money on rent and utilities.

• Holds Investors in People accreditation which reflects the staff development and training programme. Volunteers are recruited from all walks of life, especially those who would struggle to find work due to their past or health restrictions.

• Herb UK’s commitment to Sustainability was recognised recently when they won the New Forest Business Partnerships’ Brilliance in Business award for Sustainable Business of the year.

• Applied for and received an Energy Grant 500 award from Business Link and used the money to obtain an Efergy energy monitor in order to be able to constantly trace energy use in the company buildings

• All raw materials used in the creation of Herb UK’s products are Organic, Soil Association and Cruelty Free recognised.

Radian Group• £20 million regeneration of a former council estate on the outskirts of Petersfield in May 2009

Centre (NOCS)• In 2007/08 over 100 energy monitors were installed covering waster, gas and electricity consumption.

• NOCS is committed to reducing energy consumption through its ISO14001 certification.

• Saved ~8000m3 of water per annum with equivalent savings of ~£20,000 or 5.65 tonnes CO2 per annum

• Data from the Stark system supplements environmental media used to communicate with staff/students

• Active member of the Hampshire Energy Partnership and will be a best practice case study for Stark who installed the system.

Highbury College• The ground source heat pump installed at Highbury Campus will save an annual 2,275,000kWh of electricity or 548 tonnes of carbon emissions – that’s equivalent to planting five acres of the New Forest every year.

• 160 square metres of photovoltaic cells capable of generating 13,600kWh of electricity a year.

• Active chilled beams saving up to 217,00kWh over conventional fan coil units.

• Automatic control of lighting in classrooms, saving 50,000kWh a year.

• PCs with auto shutdown software, saving 135,000kWh a year.

Country Park• Replaced its natural gas boilers with a state of the art bio-mass system which provides all the site’s heat, and most of its hot water

• Involved a retro fit as far as the complex of buildings was concerned, with a new boiler house, and agricultural barn for woodchip and machinery storage
