  • It made me feel valued as an employee, which in turn incentivised me to be more motivated while giving me additional respect for the organisation. As a team we are achieving more than we were a few years ago, and thats linked to the positivity we built during the course. I really enjoyed it and would thoroughly recommend it, and not just to health services

PERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS COURSES CREATED BY HEALTH VISITORS FOR

    HEALTH VISITORS

Supporting best practice in the UK

  • From June 2014 to July 2015, Sustain STEPS for Health Visitors facilitators have delivered 62 internal courses to 661 delegates.

By the end of 2015 more than 1000 delegates, 8% of the national Health Visiting population will have attended this course.

98.6% of delegates agreed the course would improve their performance in the seven core outcomes.

An Essex Health Visitor, with over a decade of nursing experience, credits the course with instilling a new can do attitude in her team

    making a difference

99% said they would recommend the course to others.

  • As a facilitator, I see the delegates growing in confidence as they complete the course. Afterwards its about encouraging them to put the things they have learnt into practice so that they can overcome any fears they may have and build on that new-found confidence.

The Sustain STEPS to Excellence Programme

We all came back from the training and made changes. It has given us more self-belief and the confidence that we can do things. It is also helping us to push our own comfort zones and those of our clients by having those difficult conversations we may otherwise have tried to avoid

    Health Visitor, Peterborough

Overall, the outcomes from this project have been really positive, and I hope we can continue to harness that enthusiasm going forward. Sustain STEPS has made a big difference to our workforce and has changed the service for the better. It has been well worth it and we are confident it will continue to bring value in the long term

  • creating positive change

The way I deliver things and communicate with others has also changed, particularly in my role as a mentor, preceptor and clinical practice tutor. I have a better understanding of how the conscious mind and sub conscious works and am more aware of things.

Whereas previously I might have been frustrated if someone couldnt understand a concept or the impact it could have on them, I now appreciate how long it takes to work through issues and use the principles from Sustain STEPS to help people look at their life more clearly
