PART 3: PRELIMINARY TIME MANAGEMENT
Preliminary time management is a process of planning, controlling and executing the project so that the
project is managed in a proper effective way to get the desired outcome. We do have different methods
of implementing a certain project and for this particular project we are following the following tools and
techniques to execute the time management strategy.
ACTIVITY LIST AND ATTRIBUTES:
Activity List and attributes generally deals with the tasks that should be followed by each activities
resource requirements, constraints and the relationship between each activity. The sample of Activity
List and Attributes assisted from the WBS for the initiation and site Mobilization of the project has been
shown below.
Project Name: Borroloola Trade Training Centre
WBS Item Number: 1.1
WBS Item Name: Initiating
Predecessors: none
Successors: 1.2 Site constructions
Logical Relationship: Finish to Start
Leads and Lags: none
Resource Requirements: Contractor, stakeholders and project manager
Constraints: none
Assumptions: Mutual agreement and negotiation between stakeholder and contractor should be made in presence of an authorized body to
start the project.
WBS Item Number: 1.2
WBS Item Name: Site Construction
Predecessors: 1.1 Initiating
Successors: 1.2.1 Site Mobilization
Logical Relationships: Finish to Start
Leads and Lags: none
Resource Requirements: Project Manager, Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Architecture
Constraints: none
Assumptions: Construction should be on time within the stipulated Budget with a regular inspection.

ACTIVITY DURATION
The Duration for each activity to be sequenced in a project has been briefly shown in the
Activity Resource Requirement list but the exact duration for different activity can be found by
the PERT weighted average formula given as follows:
PERT weighted average= (optimistic time+4*Most likely Time+ Pessimistic)/6
PROJECT SCHEDULE
For the Project schedule of each activity in the project, a Gantt chart has been made which has
been shown in the next part.
