Welcome to Survivors Manchester from myself, my fellow trustees, the staff team and volunteers.

It is with great pleasure and pride I sit and write my welcome intro to this, our Annual Report 2013/14.

Writing a short introduction is easy, in fact I could write a whole novel on the achievements, strength of conviction and sheer determination the organisation, our staff, volunteers and supporters have demonstrated and continue todemonstrate, day in and day out, over the last year or so.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we hope you like theOn behalf of the Board of Trustees, we hope you like thenewly refreshed annual report which has adopted ashorter, more punchy style this year. We hope you seewhat this symbolises - breaking the silence doesn’t haveto be a long drawn out process; with courage, braveryand a helping hand, you’ll be surprised at what we canachieve together - abuse may happen in isolation but thehealing happens togetherhealing happens together.

Survivors Manchester goes from strength to strength andjust reading our achievements, small and the larger, personally gives me a strong sense of hope. The outcomes for our service users, their families andthe communities get better and better, which we alwaysknew but now you can all see it in black and white.

We do not shy away from being a survivor-ledWe do not shy away from being a survivor-ledorganisation, in fact we embrace and celebrate wheneverand wherever we can. We enjoy excellent partnerships, both locally and nationally, and our ambition is to spreadour message internationally to help fight and combat thefear pain and heartache that’s caused but such atrociousacts that many people suffer in silence.

If this is the first time you’ve encountered SurvivorsIf this is the first time you’ve encountered SurvivorsManchester then we welcome you with open arms;and for those more longstanding supporters wegraciously thank you. Please feel free to get in touch,we are here to listen and learn and together,we WILL break the silence. Craig HarrisCraig HarrisChair of [email protected]
