History

Sterisets International B.V. was established in 1996, as a result of a spinoff from a medical distributing company in The Netherlands.Instead of only buying and selling, the goal was to start our own manufacturing facility in the medical business. Until today we have been growing our activities throughout Europe, with manufacturing facilities in Portugal, The Netherlands and China.

With extensive experience in the medical sector, the company now has several high quality product lines in the medical disposable market.

Over the years, our company has broadened the range of products which all meet the technical requirements of a market in permanent evolution and transformation.

We have invested hugely in the improvement of our manufacturing processes, not only in products but also in staff and equipment.The principal markets of Sterisets International were the Benelux (Belgium, The Netherlands & Luxemburg), Scandinavian countries, the United Kingdom and Germany, each with their own specific requirements in which we have been able to prove our flexibility.

Attentive to the changes in the medical field, Sterisets International continuously performs market analysis, in order to find new opportunities and new necessities in different European countries.

Today our sales is established in many different countries. For most of these countries, products are produced in our newest facility in Penafiel, Portugal. With 2 manufacturing sites in Portugal and thousands of components stocked in our warehouse, we can be flexible at all time. Sales and marketing is done at the headquarters in The Netherlands.

Our design All our drapes and gowns are developed with the help from O.R. Professionals around Europe. When we designed and developed, we have tried to add as much features as possible, for a better performance. The O.R. professionals have shared their experience with our team, so we did get a good sense of what features they liked and disliked about other drapes and surgical gowns. Then we have worked to develop an innovative line of products, you can use with confidence.

Some features, such as velcro-style tube- & lineholders to a drape and different materials to produce gowns, such as; SMS and Spunlaced, will offer you more convenience.

The Sterisets drapes and gowns will offer a high standard for all O.R. Products.

Sterisets® gowns This we have developed with the latest fabric technologies as well as the best economical conditions.

We recognize that each O.R. team may have different preferences in a surgical gown. That’s why Sterisets® gowns are available in different materials and in various combinations, to provide each user with the best gown.

Each of these gowns feature a different fabric and / or weight, that has its own unique performance. However, there are a set of benefits that all these gowns share.

All Sterisets® gowns are cut wider in the chest and sleeves for a better fit.Our gowns feature an adjustable velcro-style neck closure. This allows the neckline to easily adjust to a wide variety of people, while also helping to prevent gapping in the front which serves as additional protection against fluids

Sterisets® drapes — the broadest line in the industry

We offer you a wide range of options, which is especially designed for each purpose. Sterisets® drapes feature a 2 layer basic laminated material, which meets the EN13795 standard. Some benefits offered by our products:• 100% impermeable• High absorption capacity and speed• Low level of linting• Strong and durable• Soft feel and conforms easily to the body• Latex freeSterisets® drapes offer you a soft, cloth-like feel that conforms easily to the body.

With the Sterisets® O.R. drapes and gowns, you are offered a wide range of possibilities. The high standard, combined with the intended use on the O.R., makes this program also economically worth looking at. The ultimate combination, where we work with Spunlaced , SMS, SSMMS and the 2-ply Spunbound Microfiber with high absorption, can offer you a good product in every situation.

Velcro-style line holdersSterisets® drapes feature velcro-style tube- and line holders to place surgical lines and help keep them clear of the working area. The Velcro is easy to use, even when wearing gloves. This is one of the key features we have developed for the Sterisets® drapes.

Tape and incise film We use premium tape and incise film on all Sterisets® drapes. Our tape is manually placed to the fenestration to help prevent pooling of blood and fluid underneath the drape. Because the tape is placed manually, it allows the tape to be closer to the fenestration compared to other drapes.

Large impervious reinforcement zone Sterisets® fenestrations and splits are surrounded with a large impervious reinforcement. This area absorbs fluids and is plastic-backed to make the area impervious to blood and body fluids as well as bacterial transmission.

Spunlaced Surgical GownsSpunlaced gowns offer everyday protection and comfort.

Comfort you can feelThe first feature you will notice about the Spunlaced gown is the way it feels. The soft, cloth-like texture says “comfort” as soon as you put it on. Those who spend much of their day in a surgical gown will appreciate the comfort of Spunlaced.

Generous sizingSpunlaced gowns are cut wider through the chest and sleeves for a roomier fit.

Adjustable necklineThe Spunlaced gowns feature a velcro-style neck closure that allows the neckline to easily adjust to a wide variety of people. In addition, the velcro-style closure helps prevent gapping in the front of the gown to further help protect against fluids.

For more than 25 years, medical fabric has been considered an industry standard for medical gowns and drapes.The fabric features advanced material technology that provides a splash resistant barrier that’s breathable. It keeps you cool and comfortable while you work, helping you feel confident and in control.

Sterisets SMS Surgical GownsSterisets SMS gowns offer a level of comfort superior to other SMS gowns.

Better fit and adjustableSterisets SMS gowns are roomier in the chest and sleeves to help provide a better fit. They also feature an adjustable velcro-style neck closure.

Flame resistantSterisets SMS gowns are resistant to ignition. The fabric has a naturally low rate of flame spread and meets the Standard for Flammability of Clothing Textiles CPSC 16 CFR Part 1610.

Low-lintingSterisets SMS gowns are low linting. Because they are made from polypropylene, the gowns are naturally low in lint.

Three layers of protectionOur SMS technology utilizes three layers of fabric to provide a high level of fluid repellency. This helps provide a barrier to blood, body fluids and pathogens. The fabric features one densely-packed meltblown layer sandwiched between two strong, spunbond outer layers.
