Sūrat al-Kāfirūn (The Unbelievers, The Faithless)

الكافرونسورة Súrah – 109

No of Ayat – 6

Merits of Sūrat al-Kāfirūn

This is a „Meccan‟ sūrah.

The surah that instructs the Prophet Muḥammad (s.a.w.) to

inform The Faithless that the worship of false deities and the

worship of One God are not, and can never be, compatible. It

takes its name from “the faithless” (al-kāfirūn) mentioned in

verse 1. The surah tells about some of the idolaters that

suggested to the Prophet as a compromise that he should

worship their gods for a year and they should worship his for a

year. This was the reply.

The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) said that reciting this surah carries the

reward of reciting a quarter of the Holy Qur‟an. The recitation of

this surah drives away Shaitan and keeps one safe from Shirk.

It is also among the five surahs that have been recommended

to be recited during a journey, the others being surah an-Nasr, at-

Tawhid, al-Falaq and an-Naas. Reciting Sūrat al-Kāfirūn and at-

Tawheed in compulsory prayers is a means for forgiveness of

sins for the reciter, his parents and his children. If a person dies

after reciting this surah, it is as if he has died a martyr. Recitation

of this surah before sleeping keeps one safe the whole night.

ऐ अलऱाह महममद और आऱ महममद ऩर अऩनी सऱामती रख

Sūrat al-Kāfirūn

ه ن بسم الل حم حم الر الر

In the Name of Allāh,

the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

bi-smi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīmi

سےهام کےخدا والے رحمتوں دائمیاور عظیم

अलऱाह क नाम स जो बडा कऩाऱ और अतयनत दयावान ह।

كافرون ﴿

ها ال ا ا ﴾١قل

Say, „O faithless ones!

qul yā-ˈayyuhā l-kāfirūna

پ

کافرو اے کہ دیجےئ کہہ ا

कह दो, "ऐ इनकार करनवाऱो!"

اعبد ما تعبدون ﴿

﴾٢ل

I do not worship what you worship,

lā ˈaʿbudu mā taʿbudūna

تے پوجاتم کیجن کرسک تا هہیں عبادت کی خداؤںان میں ہو کر

म वसी बनदगी नह ॊ करॉ गा जसी बनदगी तम करत हो,

اهتم عابدون ما اعبد ﴿

﴾٣ول

nor do you worship what I worship;

wa-lā ˈantum ʿābidūna mā ˈaʿbudu

هے عبادت کیخدا میرے تم هہاور ہو والے کر

और न तम वसी बनदगी करनवाऱ हो जसी बनदगी म करता ह ॉ

nor will I worship what you have worshiped

wa-lā ˈana ʿābidun mā ʿabadtum

هے پوجا کو معبودوں تمہارے میں هہاور ہوںول کر

और न म वसी बनदगी करनवाऱा ह ॉ जसी बनदगी तमन की ह

اهتم عابدون ما اعبد ﴿

كم دوكم ولي دن ﴿

﴾٦ل

To you your religion, and to me my religion.‟

lakum dīnukum wa-liya dīni

ےہ دین میرا لےئ میرے اور ےہ دین تمہارا لےئ تمہارے

तमहार लऱए त महारा धमम ह और मर लऱए मरा धमम!"
