• All persons born or naturalized in the U.S. are citizens (former slaves receive citizenship.)
25th Amendment
• Presidential succession (in the event of death, resignation, removal from office, or disability.)
Marbury v. Madison
• Established Judicial review – Supreme Court can review all laws made by Congress
Plessy v. Ferguson
• Established the principle of “separate but equal.” It approved of separate facilities for blacks and whites.
Brown v. Board of Education
• Ruled that segregated schools are unequal, no more segregation in public schools.
