Disparate data sources that need to be brought together either physically
or virtually.
Many instances where the data sources that we have do not need to be
physically moved and persisted.
Decouple app to app communication through a layer of data abstraction
Difficult to perform impact analysis of data changes
No transparency around what data assets exist and how they are being
consumed
