Demolition is more powerful and efficient than ever with the new John Deere Hydraulic Hammer attachments (HH20C, HH40C, HH60C and HH80C) for skid steers, compact track load-ers (CTLs) and compact excavators. The new line of hammers is the fastest in its class, and they are more efficient and easier to maintain than previous models. The Hydraulic Hammers are the new-est product added to the consistently growing line of Worksite Pro attach-ments and are optimized to work with select John Deere G- and E-Series skid steers and compact track loaders, G-Series Compact Excavators and most com-petitive models.

Redesigned with a simplified hydraulic-breaker solution to boost productivity, the Hydrau-lic Hammers provide two to three times more blows per minute (BPM) than previous models. With

30 percent fewer parts, rebuild times are reduced to one hour versus eight hours, and an exclusive tool retention system en-ables quick installation and removal using only one small screwdriver. Additionally, the Hydrau-lic Hammers only require grease every two hours of operation and have a 1,000-hour service inter-val, contributing to lower daily operating and main-tenance costs.

Five bit options are available on the Hydraulic Hammers to further pow-er operator productivity, including: Standard moil point

suitable for breaking concrete or medium-hard, nonstratified rock

Optional chisel point for concrete flatwork, walls around rebar or break-ing into a precut line

Optional spade for most concrete, asphalt cut-ting and all earthworks in soft, nonstratified rock

Optional compacting plate for single-machine prep of dirt for concrete pads and fencing

Optional pyramid point used to break hard, re-inforced concrete as well as sediment (only available on the HH20C and HH40C)The Hydraulic Ham-

demand for larger wheel loaders, Gehl developed the 650 and 750 Articu-lated Loaders for the North American market. The Gehl 650 and 750 Articu-lated Loaders represent an expansion into the 60-80 horsepower size class, with larger engines and higher horsepower than the com-petition. Both models have Tier IV-certified engine emissions technology, with a Yanmar 64.4 hp (48 kW) engine on the 650 and a Deutz 74.3 hp (55 kW) en-gine powering the 750. The Yanmar engine uses a die-sel particulate filter after-

treating system, while the Deutz uses a diesel oxida-tion catalyst after treatment system, which allows users to choose their preferred emissions system.

The 650 and 750 are additions to the Gehl fam-ily of articulated loaders, weighing in at 4-5 metric tons. They are the larg-est wheel loaders in the Gehl product offering and include standard conve-nience features such as a digital instrumentation display, Power-A-Tach At-tachment Mounting System and a multi-function joy-stick. Digging and scraping performance is maximized through some of the high-est breakout forces in their respective classes and front and rear locking differen-tials.

A heavy-duty, oscillat-ing articulation joint offers 45-degree turning angles to the left and right and 10 degrees of oscillation in both directions for optimal traction and manoeuvrabil-ity. The bucket and tires

follow a constant turning radius, so the rear tires of the loader follow the path of the front tires. Narrow machine widths allow ac-cess to tight, confined spaces that most skid steer loaders with comparable operating capacities can-not access. The Z bar-type linkage allows for mechanical self-levelling action in both the up and down directions, excellent bucket dump angles at the mid- and top-ranges of the lift path, mechanical return to dig, as well as outstand-ing forward reach.

Proportional auxiliary hydraulics is standard equipment and is utilized with a roller switch on the joystick. Detent and pres-sure relief are included to optimize attachment hook-up and performance. Two easily accessible aux-iliary hydraulic lines with flat-face couplers power a variety of tools and make attachment changes easy. Additionally, the 650 and 750 are available with an industry leading three aux-iliary circuit option to the front and rear, including high-flow.

The Forest Products As-sociation of Canada (FPAC) and other forest groups around the world welcome the official signing of the United Nations agreement on climate change that was reached late last year in Paris. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is among world leaders in New York for the signing ceremony.

The global forest prod-ucts industry has a highly significant role to play in Canada achieving its tar-gets outlined in this deal, says Derek Nighbor, CEO of FPAC. Canadas forest products companies have made it clear that we intend to step up to the plate and

help in the transition to a low-carbon economy here in Canada and elsewhere around the world, he says.

The global forest prod-ucts industry has made sig-nificant strides in reducing its carbon footprint, stock-ing carbon and generating greenhouse gas remov-alsall helping to mitigate climate change, said the President of the Interna-tional Council of Forest and Paper Associations, Elizabeth de Carvalhaes of the Brazilian Tree Industry.

The renewable forest sector can contribute to cli-mate change goals in many ways, including sustain-able forest management,

investing in clean technolo-gies with low-carbon emis-sions and developing bio-based products to displace goods traditionally made from fossil fuel.

The forest industrys role in mitigating climate change was highlighted in a report commissioned by the ICFPA International Climate Change report. Canadas Climate Forum has also released an inde-pendent report that shows how the forest industry can be part of the solution to climate change.

FPAC will be soon by releasing its plan to show how it intends to help Canada reach its ambitious climate change targets as outlined in the agreement signed in New York. b

BC Hydro remind-ed British Columbians about the importance of electrical safety. On May 11, more than 225 classrooms in B.C. par-ticipated in BC Hydros Electrical Safety Day in schools.

Electrical equipment can be dangerous and the safety and well-being of the public is a key pri-ority for BC Hydro, said Bill Bennett, Minister of Energy and Mines. We rely on electricity every day and we need to en-sure British Columbians are supplied with a safe and reliable source of power.

The province could face a serious emergency at any time, said Nao-mi Yamamoto, Minister of State for Emergency Preparedness. Safety programs like this en-sure that all British Co-lumbians are prepared for natural disasters or motor vehicle accidents that can make electricity

dangerous.The initiative was de-

signed to raise awareness to the hazards of electric-ity and promote safety. Participating elementary and secondary students across the province will be led through an inter-active video that demon-strates the key safety ele-ments of downed power lines. This years safety theme is Down. Danger. Dial.

If a power line is down, its a danger and we want you to dial 911, said Hugo Shaw, senior vice-president, Safety & Security, BC Hydro. Through our school programs, we are getting this message on electrical safety to thou-sands of students across the province. Classrooms in about 45 school dis-tricts have pledged to participate in this years initiative.

A downed power line is considered an emer-gency, even if its not

sparking or emitting buzzing sounds. Brit-ish Columbians who come across a downed power line should stay at least 10 metres back the length of a stan-dard bus and call emergency responders who will ensure the area is safe.

There are a number of ways British Columbians can stay safe at home or outside in the communi-ty. BC Hydro is remind-ing the public to follow these tips:Call a certified electrician

do any wiring in your home.

Turn off all appliances and lights that are on the circuit before changing the fuse.

Pull the plug, not the cord, when disconnect-ing an electrical device.

Do not climb on electri-cal equipment or power poles.

Choose trees the right size when planting near power lines and stay safe when pruning or trim-ming.

Terex Finlay set to unveil THREE exciting new prod-ucts at Hillhead 2016 in our largest ever presence at the show. At the show Terex Finlay will officially launch the NEW C-1540 direct drive cone crusher and 674 3-deck inclined screen. We will also preview the new I-140RS impact crusher in advance of its launch in Q3, 2016.

We are looking forward with excitement to the up-coming Hillhead, 2016. from the Terex Finlay crush-er portfolio will be the of-ficial launch of the NEW C-1540 direct drive cone crusher. This machine has been developed to satisfy the requirements of the me-dium sized owner operator

and contract crushers. The machine has been well re-ceived at a number of cus-tomer preview events and we are pleased with the ini-tial order levels being placed on the factory. We will also be exhibiting our C-1545 cone crusher at the booth. We introduced this machine in late 2015 and have been delighted with the uptake and acceptance from the in-ternational market.

From our extensive range of impactors we will be displaying our new I-140 impact crusher. This next-generation impactor was premiered at the 2016 Bau-ma exhibition and was one of the stand out machine launches at the show. We will also be previewing the latest development with the preview of our I-140RS impact crusher.

From our comprehen-sive range of jaw crushers we will be exhibiting the ever popular J-1170 and J-960 jaw crushers. Both these machines are well respected and key models for the important UK and European markets.

The Terex Finlay screen-er line up is equally impres-sive and we will be launch-ing our NEW 674 inclined screen at Hillhead. This

small to mid-size inclined screen has been specifically developed to appeal to the contract crusher and small scale owner-operator look-ing to produce four speci-fication products from the one platform.

The 674 inclined screen has been developed to en-ter new space in the mobile screening market. Were excited by the buzz and

interest that has been ex-pressed in this new model and expect it to be a real star of the show.

Terex Finlay will also be previewing the new I-140RS impact crusher in the main working area in advance of its launch in Q3, 2016. This exciting

new machine features an onboard detachable siz-ing screen and recircu-lation conveyor for pro-ducing a specd product. For applications not re-quiring utilization of the recirculation system the conveyor can be slewed into position and used as a stockpile conveyor. Used in this configura-tion the machine can

produce three products from one platform. Recycling areas demon-stration

In the recycling work-ing areas Terex Finlay will be exhibiting the J-1170AS jaw crusher and new 873 Spaleck heavy duty recycling screener. We previewed the J-1170AS at Hillhead 2014 and put the machine

went into serial produc-tion in early 2015. This highly adaptable ma-chine has been well re-ceived by contact crush-ers and owner operators as it provides the flex-ibility of a crushing and screening plant on one platform for use in min-ing and recycling appli-cations. The detachable on-board sizing screen can be quickly removed allowing the operator to use the machine as a standard unit depending on the application.

The 873 Spaleck recy-cling screen is the latest model to be developed in partnership with Spalck GmbH. Launched in late 2015 this machine has gained positive trac-tion in the global mar-ket, particularly in those markets where machine movement from site to site is complicated. At a recent ceremony, leaders from Tolko Indus-tries and the Nations of the North Peace Tribal Coun-cil including Beaver First Nation, Dene Tha First Na-tion, Little Red River Cree Nation and the Tallcree First Nation gathered to sign a Letter of Under-standing that provides the foundation for the pursuit of the collaborative man-agement of the respective forest tenures in the Treaty 8 and North Peace Nations Territory in north-western Alberta as well as a stew-ardship plan for the area.

While still in the forma-tive stages of discussion, the vision of the relation-ship is to possibly support the Government of Alberta planning objectives by amalgamating the respec-tive tenures and to plan re-source development, con-servation and protection in a collaborative manner.

This innovative concept will enrol the participation of Environmental Non-Govern-ment Organizations in the

development of the stew-ardship plan, to conserve and protect ecosystems and ensure that compliance is achieved for the Federal Spe-cies at Risk Act for Wood-land Caribou, Wood Bison and other species such as the Sandhill Crane. It also supports, and is supported by, the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement (CBFA), to promote a collaborative approach to achieving both conservation and economic prosperity.
