Government is Government consisting of Central and Local Government

Central Government are all ministries

Local Government has Rural District Councils (RDCs), Municipalities, and Local Boards. Figures based on GFS 1986.

Final Consumption Expenditure is compiled using the sum of costs:

Compensation of Employees

Add Goods and Services

Add Consumption of fixed capital

Equals Output

Less Fees sales and recoveries (from the revenue side)

Equals Government Final Consumption Expenditure

Final Consumption Expenditure is compiled for Central and Local Government

Breakdown of goods and services consumed is provided by the treasury and local government entities. Enter figures under each product code.

A new chart of accounts (GFS 2014) has been compiled and Government awaiting activation into the accounting system.

of households The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) carries out a Poverty

Income Consumption and Expenditure Survey (PICES) every 5 years.

The Supply and Use 2012 is based on PICES 2011/12 data.

PICES 2017 was completed in December 2017.

Data is collected on demographic characteristics, household consumption expenditures, household income and household agriculture production activities and household stocks

Data on household consumption expenditure is classified according to Classification of Individual Consumption according to Purpose (COICOP)

The four digit COICOP classification was used (See example of two digit classification showing broad categories.

Each COICOP category is entered into the corresponding CPC Rev 2.1 on the SUT

Commodity Flow method used to check levels of consumption reported. Compare domestic production imports, then consumption and exports.

Conclusion

Zimbabwe is currently balancing Supply and Use Tables for 2012 at product level.

The same amount of the product entering an economy in an accounting period

must be used for intermediate consumption, final consumption expenditure,

capital formation (including changes in inventories) or exports.

Supply and Use tables expected to be published by the end of the first quarter

2018.
